FFT re-release
« on: July 19, 2001, 08:29:30 PM »
From http://www.psera.com

"According to GameStop Square plans to re-release Final Fantasy Tactics for PlayStation under Sony\'s "Greatest Hits" line on July 31st. Basically it\'s the same great game, new box, tons of new shipments. Expect to pick it up nationwide for $19.99-$24.99 in the states."

I haven\'t played this one yet.  I\'ll definately be picking up a copy.  I hope I have FFC finished by then!

Well, I\'ve only rented the game once, and that was a long time ago.  I can\'t quite remember the story, but it revolves around a guy who is a soldier in an army.  Some girl is kidnapped, and some other stuff happens, blah blah blah, you end up fighting bad guys.  Sorry, but it was a long time ago. ;)

Anyway, the gameplay is AWESOME.  It\'s a strategy game, so it\'s nothing like the typical Final Fantasy game.  What I enjoyed most was the Job System, because there were so many options available.  You could customize your party to suit your desires, which made the game a lot of fun.  Battles were actually challenging -- something that can\'t be said for most other RPGs.  There\'s magic, and summons, and everything else that makes FF great, only it\'s implemented in a much better fashion (IMO).

You really do need to play FFT at least once.  Although the game is very long, I\'m sure you\'ll enjoy every minute of it.

Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the best games ever.
The gameplay is addictive, and the story is almost as deep as FF7, I would go as far as to say that its about 2x as good as final fantasy 7.
Everyone should at least try it out.
Hint fo everyone.
Have every character learn auto-potion and I think up morale, something like that.
Good things to have.
Great game.

Good thing I still have my FFT from the day it originally came out. :D

I hope this re-release shows the popularity of FFT and Square does a sequel.

If you have never played FFT you don\'t know how much you missed.  It is addicting and unlike a lot of games out right now it makes you think.  Not only in the gameplay but with the storyline also.  Do not miss the chance to buy this game if it is re-released.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.

You couldn\'t get either Final Fantasy Anthology or Tactics in the UK. That didn\'t stop me though, I imported. Thing is i\'ve completed Final Fantasy VI part of the Anthology but never bothered with V or Tactics. All this talk though makes me wonder if I should start to play Tactics.

RichGUK, do yourself a favour and play V. It`s hard, actually it`s very hard in places but it has a magic system only matched by 7`s materia.
