Sorry, I forgot about this thread for a couple days... You guys still haven\'t shed any light on this
Goonies obsession! As I said before, you\'re entitled to your opinion, but I just don\'t understand it! I\'m assuming most of you are younger than me, but I was a high school senior when this movie was released, so it\'s not like I\'m ignorant of it. It just never had any impact on me whatsoever. I saw it in the theater around 1985, and then cursed the $4.00 I wasted on the ticket... that\'s about it.
I don\'t understand the attraction for you. (I\'m working from memory here...) There are no sex scenes, the visual effects are lousy, the script it boring and not-funny, the soundtrack has crappy eighties music like Cyndi Lauper, and the child actors are annoying as hell. The Goonies was just a rip-off of a much better child adventure film,
Explorers starring Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix (also released in 1985). Finding other people younger than me who like this movie is like discovering a secret enclave of tribesmen who worship a Danny Kaye film that fell out of a transport plane. It\'s just so weird. Shouldn\'t some crappy examples of 1980\'s culture be better forgotten? Please help me understand.. ANYONE!
