Revolutionary movies

What movies, in your opinion, would you classify as revolutionary and very original? Movies where an extremely innovative concept that makes you think differently than you normally would is put forth, and nearly every detail is accounted for. The first and most obvious movies, to me, would be Jurassic Park and The Matrix. What do you think?
the earthquake hits the theater
but the operetta lingers
then the piano lid comes down
and breaks his ****ing fingers

Indiana Jones - revolutionary mix of good ol\' adventure with humouristic and not too serious action.

Pulp Fiction - because it was fast, cool and really good movie.

Godfather - the first truly deep mob-movie.

The Deer Hunter - great.

and others that don\'t come in mind right now.

Star Wars definetly. I wasnt alive when they first came out but I know that they were the biggest craze.

Saving Private Ryan I think cause since then there\'s been alot of of war movies like Patriot and Pearl Harbor and Enemy at the Gates.

Can\'t think of any others rite now.

THE MATRIX FOUR sure. Everybody had to try and copy the matrix actions scenes after they did it. Or they where making a parady of it.

I believe Kubrick\'s 2001 and Clockwork Orange were quite revolutionary for their time - or at least I heard Clockwork was quite violent for a film of that age ( nowadays, as I watched it - it was disturbing, but not violent if compared to some splatter-movies for example ).

Star Wars was revolutionary - or at least my father was amazed when he saw the fourth episode on theaters; it was something so realistic he had ever seen.

While Matrix was a nifty little movie I don\'t think it\'s fair to call it revolutionary. I mean, the action was inspired by Hong Kong action movies etc. The Warchoski (sp?) brothers just wrapped it all up in an American blockbuster package, because the movies it borrowed from were much lesser known.

But that\'s just my opinion of course. :)

The matrix was more revolutionary for its camera and special effect, rather than just the action sequences

The matrix for sure, it really did put a whole new spin on in movie special effects. Absolute magic.

Star wars also, it has been adopted in SO many countries, and is so widely recognised as a revolutionary film. From the concept of an all seeing all doing force, to absolutely magnificent action scenes, and a heightened sense of reality no other space movie had had, this movie really set the bar a notch higher. Lucas created his own universe from the bottom up, and never had this been done to such extent before
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.
