Shocking Tekken 4 news!!!

This game has evolved so much since Tekken Tag. The levels look amazing, almost putting DOA3\'s Bi level battlefields to shame. The fighting system has been tweaked so much that Tekken 4 will be 500 times more enjoyable than TTT was. The character models cotain about 4 thousand polygons each, and thehe announcer\'s voice even got a face-lift, from the deep/annoying sounding, Mortal Kombat like voice, to a hip cool American voice. This game will for sure rock the U.S. and did someone say DOA3? What\'s DOA3 again? Tekken 4 will deliver big time.

Four hours later, people began leaving, with 14 arcades in the vicinity, only 6 were being used. Now, I finally a chance to play by myself. I begged my wife for more money so I can play Tekken 4 again, even though Tekken 4 was still a preview, it was twice the price of the other arcades. Azumi and I finally had an arcade to ourselves and this time, instead of playing we watched the intro FMV and saw some automatic computer vs. computer fighting. While we were watching, I finally saw some stages I hadn\'t seen yet, like the level that looks like a freezer with lots of cold fog and freezing breath from the fighters. Also the parking lot stage where it is very narrow and not round or square but sort of "S" shaped. As we kept watching the computer fighting I saw the new characters like Craig Marduk, the restler/street brawler, and Christie Montiero, a Capoeria Fighter. The designs of each character look amazing, from hair that moves in real time to pain gestures that look so real (especially when hit in the crotch), and even the girls look hot. Christie has big (*cough ahem cough*) that can rival the big (you know) in DOA3, and Ling looks more older too. After a while of watching the arcade play itself, my wife decided to put money in and try it out again. She decided used Law again and King was the first enemy/stage; after the stage loaded I saw King wearing his church uniform that he had in Tekken 2, which I thought looked cool as well. Azumi fought the computer; and as I watched her fight in the city street stage (city of Shinjuku), all I can say about this single stage is that it looks NICE (nice: as in frickin AMAZING). Bright like Las Vegas and very interactive, even the innocent bystanders run in fear when the not so innocent fighting gets close; also the music is nice too and matches the stage very well with a casino music feel to it. The Tekken stages are great eye candy, but it won\'t be as interactive as the DOA level with breaking glass and 2 levels to fight in. I\'m not bashing DOA, the only reason for BI-level battlefields is because the fighting system is shallow (sorry Tecmo, no don\'t hit me.... bump*). But if Namco does use BI-level battlefields in Tekken 4 or even Soul Calibur , critics would say that Namco is copying and that wouldn\'t be very good. What I like about Namco is their level of originality is very high.

My Personal opinion on Tekken 4:
After playing the game for hours in a Japanese arcade all I can say is that the game was great and surpasses Tekken 3 & TTT in just about every aspect. Although this game is great, an imaginator like me always has time to dream. What I think would make the game better is if there were like cops chasing you as while you fight, or like cars passing by that can hit you while you fight in the city streets stage. Another possibility can be the water in the beach level, where you can fall underwater and begin fighting in the water while floating and fighting at the same time. Also, what would be cool would be bi or tri-level battlefields, even though it would be very DOA like. The most needed thing that Tekken 4 has to be Jin. I need Jin in Tekken 4 for me to be able to play it good. If not, I\'m going have to settle with Kazuya. I think it\'s good still, because Kazuya has all of Jin\'s juggles. King is still there and he was one of my favorites too and while watching the computer fighting, King has even more chain-throws that i havent seen before, and they look really cool. Now what else can make this game better? I can\'t think of anything, but I know that the things that I want to add in Tekken 4 are a bit childish. With or without it, I guess the game is better than perfect. Tekken 4 is scheduled to be released in Japanese arcades (full version) august 2001. The PS2 version is due out this fall in North America. Rated "T" for Teen.

This guy is obviously a Tekken fanboy who isn\'t really good at it.  He lost to his wife and every Japanese person he played. :)  LOL.  Most of the stuff he said we already know, but when I can\'t play a game that I really want to play, a person\'s oppinion is the next best thing. :)

the only thing that could make this game better...would be some sort of bonus option allowing Tagging...that feature ruled, IMO

An alright read, but I don\'t know where the shocking part comes in. Bah, anyhoo sounds great, the only bad thing about these opinionated stories about what the game is like is that it just makes us want to play it so much more. One feature I hope the battle cabinets out here have is the ps2 controller slot (it was shown in the original photos of the original battle cabinets.

A tag feature would be sweet as well... a LOT of people have gotten used to the tag feature, and one on one fighting may not be enough for them
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

I would love to see a ps2 slot in the arcade machine.  It would work out great for me considering I\'m a pad whore ^_^.

And it said the ps2 version was coming out this fall..I didn\'t realize it was so soon.
