Who\'s looking forward to new DC games?
« on: July 23, 2001, 06:54:13 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone was still looking forward to any games for the Dreamcast.I have had a DC for a year an a half and it was great but now it has lost all it\'s steam, after playing Sonic Adaventure 2 for couple of weeks now, I got tired of the game.I guess Dreamcast it really going to be gone. What do you guys think? Are there any new games other than Shenmue 2 that are coming out?

Do I really have to answer this?

:)

We still have these games coming out:

NFL2K2
NBA2K2
NHL2K2
WSB2K2 (? I hope!)
Shenmue II (best. game. ever.)
Outtrigger
Alien Front Online (or did this one get canned?)
Soldier of Fortune
Commandos 2
Phantasy Star Online V.2 (hours of enjoyment!)

And I believe a few other potential gems, but beyond this, not much left :)

And both of you two forgot about Headhunter. It\'s still in development by Sega of Europe and is due out by christmas.

Well, they SAY Headhunter is coming out, but the progress in screens and the like they are giving out doesn\'t seem to promising.

To be quite honest, that game is easily put behind Shenmue II as my most anticipated game!

can\'t wait, and crossing my fingers,

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! NEW GAMES FOR THE DREAMCAST? DON\'T BE FOOLISH!!!

Well I gues there are 4 that are going to be worth a damn
Shenmue
NBA, NFL, and NHL 2k2
Hopefully the new Samba De Amigo
That makes 5 games. I still hate SEGA for screwing me every time I buy their crap though.

I think the number one Sega game I am anticipating is Planet Harrier. (Read: GCN title).  As for the Dreamcast, I\'d like a crack at the DC version of Garou (you go buy the damn Neo Geo game for it and spend 200+), Shenmue II, NFL2k2, VT2k2, and... uhh... MGS Bleem!
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

As much as part of me adores Sega, I have to agree. I\'ve always bought their newest stuff (\'cept Nomad, couldn\'t afford it) and everytime I end up being screwed over.  I enjoy it for a brief time and then they kill the system / add-on.

Been driken? :D

That\'s Aaron, and trust me, he\'s being 100% serious. At the former consoledomes forum, he had a lot of harsh post regarding Sega...

"I still hate SEGA for screwing me every time I buy their crap though." - Aaron

Can you elaborate a little more on just how Sega screwed you? I mean, I know alot of people who say this because Sega keeps dumping their consoles. (Which is understandable.. they need to make a profit and it\'s not like they have money just fallin outta their a$$es)

Try and see things from my pov. I only buy roughly 20 to 30 games for a console per generation, and usualy only keep about 15 to 20 of em. Most people buy far less than 30. I bought my DC knowing full well that the games out right now we\'re just about it. That didn\'t bother me, because there are at least 20 to 30 games on the DC that I want.. well.. about 20 now. I\'ve already got about 10 of em. Then theres always the sleeper hits you never know you love until you play them.

That makes the DC worth the purchase IMO. Sega didn\'t screw me.. and if I feel that way in the future... I\'ll know I screwed myself because it was a well thought out decision. Now you probably got your DC at launch, right? Still you should have known Sega had a bad track record and was in poor financial shape. You knew this outcome was likely.. but you still purchased it.

I think you should be pissed at yourself.. not Sega. Who else could have done so much, for so long, with so little?
