If so, what kind of equipment do you have?

I\'d like to go the FP route and using a HTPC - when I get the dough... I\'d also like a SVS sub. They\'re great! :)

It sounds like many people in this forum spend their money on cars or PCs... I spend it on Home Theater stuff.. :)

I have a Toshiba 65H80 that\'s going to be ISF calibrated by the one-and-only Michael TLV in October.  The DVD player is a Sony DVP-NS700P.  Some people think the Panasonic RP91 is the one to own right now, but I\'m happy with this Sony.  Right now I\'m using my friend\'s Kenwood 2-channel stereo as the receiver, but I\'m evaluating home theater receivers as the next purchase.  After that I may have to replace some of the loudspeakers.

I considered HTPC for a time, but I get sick of sitting at a desk looking at a PC.  I do that all day at work, so I don\'t want to do it at home too.  :D

Every now and then I "borrow" my high schools $4,000 porjector and hook it up to my DVD and my surround sound once in a while and ahve "Movie Marathon / Video Game heaven Weekends" at my house.  I project it onto a wall about 10 ft. horizontal.

It\'s sooooooo much fun!

One time, I went over to my friends work when he closed (he works at a fitness center and is the only one there at closing).  We projected my PS2 on to a wall at least 20 ft. horizontal.  Sure you lose some graphic quality, but having the character you play be larger than life-size is sooo much fun!

I just scored a new job worthy of letting me going crazy on the credit card.  Along with the decent HT upstairs, I plan on getting that new Pana 47" hd-ready set, a pana rp-91, an onkyo 696, an Adire Audio RAVA sub, and either nOrh, energy, ascend acoustics, or NHT speakers for the basement.  SVS is great too as Sammy pointed out.  Have to go HD before the Gamecube hits the shelves!

The problem with this hobby is it ain\'t cheap!!  I\'ve been bitten by the bug in middle school when pops brought home a Technics DPL receiver to replace our busted 2 channel Sansui.  When did you guys get into HT?

Cored: Nice set!  I\'ve heard of MTVL on htf, I wonder if he\'ll stop by VA. :)

btw- Any of you guys on HTF?  I\'m Scott L.

Sweet setup THX. I envy you. :)

I\'m still in college so I don\'t have the funds necessary to fufill my HT dreams... but it\'ll come! But why does it have to be so damn expensive! ;)

Yeah, I\'m on HTF. I can\'t remember my nick though, I\'m mostly just lurking. Great site - along with the AVS forums.

I was going to buy a kickass home theatre system for my DVD player but I\'* having a house built.  So I gotta save money.  My wife said I can only buy 2 Playstation games this year, my birthday(November), and Christmas!  Which games?  Final Fantasy, MGS, Devil May Cry, Jax&Daxter, Silent Hill 2, etc, etc, etc...  It\'s gonna be hard to decide with a ****load of AAA titles!

FFX won\'t be out until NEXT year ;)

I\'d say get "Devil May Cry" for your birthday.

And "ICO" for Christmas.

That\'s what I\'d do.  Then I\'d sneak out and buy the rest that I want, and then when she finds them, say that I\'m borrowing them from a friend.  I wonder how long I could get away with that?

Or I could just tell her to get back in her rightful place, the kitchen.

I could probably get away with buying a few extra games on the credit card!:D  I bought my PS2 with 3 games without telling my wife!  When I came home with this big ass bag with my PS2 and games she FREAKED!  I calmed her down and she was cool about it a few hours later.  When your married you gotta discuss big purchases with your wife, but I figured she would say "I think you should wait untill the price drops to $150!"  Yeah right.  I live in Canada, and I can\'t see it going down to 150 anytime soon.  Maybe 2 years from now!

LOL, I\'m never getting married. The wife is always trying to sabortage your fun! :D

Seriously, on the home theater forums the guys are always like "but I\'ll have to talk my wife into it", "can I disguise that so my wife won\'t complain?" etc. etc. Nah, I think I\'ll skip the wife part. ;)

I have a sony 1272 FP, a yamaha reciever and infinity surround.  I have all the other crap too.  LD, 2 VHS, HD DIrect TV receiver, DVD, etc...  All this crap in my living room.  My next house is going to have a theater room.  TIred of the projector sitting in the middle of the floor.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.

WORD.

But why don\'t you get one of those ceiling mounts?  Sure you\'ll bump your head every now and then, but you\'ll have more floor space and the little ones won\'t block the protection when they get up to go to the bathroom (again)!

not planning on living here much longer to justify screwing with my ceiling..  The housing market is too good to pass up.  Time to sell!!!  Dedicated room is the way to go....
