When will hdtv get to 65 khz for horizontal scan lines? I been wondering because their highest resolution, 1080 is interlaced, if it double the speed or (power), then it can go 1080p @ 60 hz/frames. I know computer monitors had already went higher than that, like 1200p + @ 75 hz/frames.
I just can\'t seem to understand why can\'t hdtv go progressive at 1080 mode at 60hz since computer monitors can go higher without any hazzle. You know, i really hate interlaced and if they can make 1080p, then make it go 30hz or stick with 720p @ 60hz. I prefer lower resolution that give precise and smooth frame. Like MPEG 1 vs. VHS, although VHS is better, I think MPEG is better thanks to progressive picture.
Last but not least, does anybody know when 1080 mode will be progressive scan at 60hz? Thanks.
It\'s harder for a 65" HDTV to do 1080p than a 19" monitor. The scan gun would have to be super fast to cover 65 inches while 19" is not really much of a problem.
We won\'t see 1080p for a looooooonng time at home. 1080p is used as an archival format for production studios, and they won\'t release them due to piracy concerns. I say just enjoy what\'s available now and wait till the next format arises. Still, a 1080p movie for the home sounds good to me!
