If it was still backwards compatable, then yes, I could sell my PS2 for some extra $.

But if xbox 2 or gc 2 came out around the same time, and either of THEM were backwards compatable, then I\'d get one of those.

If none of them were backwards compatable, I\'d probably go for something other than PS3 (for variety.)

So yes, only if it\'s backwards compatable and noe of the other systems were.

Otherwise no. . . is this clear?  I\'m not sure if I understand what I just said! :laughing:

We haven\'t even seen the games or the system yet. Why say anything. By then, all games will be on 8 cm DVDs;)

I\'m surprised I bought PS2, I don\'t think a PS3 is in my future, especially if they cripple it by forcing backwards compatibility, al la PS2. I go to the system with the most Sega games, hopefully a Sega system will arise after the market crashes in a couple years.

I find it humerous that you bash people who buy all SONY, when you yourself drool over anything SEGA.

Double standard?

But I agree with you that PS3 should not be backwards compatable.  I think it worked great for PS2, but it wouldn\'t do too well for PS3.  I also hope that SEGA will produce more for SONY.  It would be cool if they made three games:

Sonic Adventure: PS2
Sonic Adventure: X
Sonic Adventure: cubed

They could all have the same basis of main characters and such, but from then on be completely different games, with different story lines and everything.  That would be cool.

Nah. I buy Sega games. If I had a Sega system, I wouldnt need to buy all the others. (read: I bought PS2 after I learned Sega games would be on it)

That is the only reason, so far, that I am buying GC.

People don\'t buy Sony systems for Sony games, at least not even 5% I wouldnt think, I believe they do it for the massive amount of third parties they build up.

Sega makes great games and great systems, I play my Sega systems, I haven\'t played PS2 in over a month.

It is just like a Nintendo fan buying a new Nintendo system. They know that Miyamato will make a new Mario game, or whatever else. There is a guaranteed safety in that. Problem is, I don\'t play many third party games, at least, not until Sega goes MASS-3rd party.
