***s...Why is "***e" a dirty word?

I\'ve seen a few posts recently where it seems as if the person is talking about Season ***es in games, or other such things, and it is showing up in the forum as "***e" instead of " m o d e ".  This brings up the question:  Why is "m o d " considered a dirty word by the software here all of a sudden?  Just wondering...

I PM\'d Aaron, and he said that it was recently added \'cause people were talkling about M O D chips and that\'s illegal.

It\'s a shame they had to go and do that.  \'Cause I had a pic posted, but now it won\'t show up because it has the word "m.odem" in it and it converts it to ***em, and the pic won\'t load!

If the peeps here would just follow the rule about the no piracy thing, we wouldn\'t be in this mess.  So don\'t blame the M O D, blame the dorks that like to pirate stuff.

I also have troublw with the word "peac.ock," beacuse, well, you know.  (It was in a thread I posted whe I was here in my "infancy.")

Should be in off-topic or prehaps rants and raves or even suggestions.

Dunno seems like banning that word is taking it a bit far when a simple thread closing normally does the trick. Either way who am I to question the way the admins run this board.

There is a way to type the word model or modem or commodore without the word being censored.  I\'m against piracy discussions on this forum, but that three letter segment is used in many other words!

The method you use does work, except when trying to link a picture or something.

Eh, I\'ll get over it.  As long as we keep this forum respectable, I\'m willing to give a little here and there.  The pic wasn\'t that important anyway.
