Actually, the PS was never officaly known as a "PSX". Sony would always refer to it as the Playstation or "PS". At one time they considered naming it "PSX" before it was released. The name was just cooler then the simple "PS" and therefor it stuck with the masses. At least, that is how I understand the history of it.

And if they called it simply the "P3" , Intel may have a lawsuit.

Last I heard, they were gonna call it PlayStation Cell. Pretty cool if you ask me. :)

At one point they had the name GScube.

GScube is GSCube and is a powerful workstation based off PS2 architexture



GScube really has nothing to do with the PS3 at all.


PS3 should be called

PS3 A-Spec

Sure it\'s not PS3, but it does have something to do with PS3.  It\'s a prototype of what developers could use for PS3.

Troglodyte, no wonder you have so may fricking posts, you reply to everything! The P3 statement was a joke most likely and for some reason or another, you had to correct the person.


NOBODY cares. posts counts are not reflective of repect believe it or not. I have like a 4 or 5 post per day average and many people (with open minds) respect me and my opinions. Right now, I think the only people who respect you are the spammers and newbies.

Real respect from me and many others who appear to have lives will be earned by posting reasonable, sensible, NEEDFUL posts.

I am sorry if you are offended, but someone had to say it and I haven\'t been known to censor myself.

I even respect Jumpman a tad now, even though we hardly ever agree and hardly ever argue with eachother in a nice manner.

Too bad I\'m not counting.  It\'s everybody else making such a big deal about it.  I just respond to their posts.  And then one day I looked over and saw that I was close to "wise member" so I decided to choose my pic.

I wasn\'t correcting, I exposed a legal loophole.

I mostly post my opinion.  Rarely do I spam.  I\'m sorry that you don\'t think my opinions are not reasonable, sensible, or needful.  I happen to like to share my opinions.

I really do think you could have PM\'d this to me, or at least started a "Hey, let\'s bash Troglodyte" thread, instead of completely streaming off topic here.

I find it ironic that the two people I most disagree with at this forum say this.  Hmmmm, afraid of opposition?  Or is it other peoples opinions?

Before you respond to this in this thread, please PM me, or start the "Bash Troglodyte thread."  I\'ll be more than happy to continue this there.
