I don\'t know if one of these has been posted in the past, but I thought now would be a good time to start one.

Here\'s what you do: Post any predicitons you have concerning the PS2, its upcoming games, and its future. Since I don\'t really feel like posting this thread in the Console Debating forum, feel free to post predictions relating to the Xbox and Gamecube.

I will revive this thread in about 6 months, and everyone can check to see if their prophecies were correct.

Yes, I know it\'s lame, but things are running kinda slow here, in my opinion. :shy: I\'ll post my predictions later.

I am waiting till after spaceworld to make my prediction.. I need to see one thing.

I have this odd feeling of delays in my head, and after spaceworld I should know.

In terms of Xbox vs. Gamecube, GC is going to dominate the Xbox in Japan and the Xbox will edge out the GC here in the states while PS2 will most likely remain number 1 overall.

MGS2 will break the sales records set by GT3 as well.

So, January 31, 2002 eh?

Hmmmm, won\'t have FFX in the US yet, but will be very close.

Most (more than 80%) of the games coming out the next month (Ferbruary, 2002) will be in DVD format.

I\'ll have 5500 - 6000 posts.

Half of the movies that come out in January will have a video game counterpart.

Online play won\'t be worth it yet. (Expensive, and not more than 25% of American PS2 will be participating, if that.)

SONY will stop making new PS1 games.

SEGA will stop making DC games.

Gas will be 25% more expensive. (For me right now it\'s $1.20.)

GT3 will be out-done by at least 2 more racing games.

PS2 will be flooded with RPG games.

PS2 will have ported over at least 7 DC games.

I will have added 8 more games to my collection.

Sure some may be far-fetched, but sometimes that\'s the idea. I\'m up for a surpirse here and there.

Exactly...but I think we\'ll have to wait and see on the online gaming thing.

Also...I think that everyone who buys an Xbox won\'t be able to fit it through their front door because it\'s too big, thus causing many buyers to return it. Big disappointment for Microsoft...

I heard that they\'ll add an option on the Xbox that\'ll allow it to play vinyl records...just kidding.

MY predictions

MGS2 will get scores like 9.6/10 etc
Xbox launch craps on Gamecube\'s launch (even tho i hate the both of them i admit i\'m interested in more xbox games then ngc)

The ps2 will kick ass and have the best game libary compared to launch titles (x-box, gcube)

GBA will top australian charts (if not already has) just like the game boy colour

The ps2\'s graphics will have a little kick up the rear in moving along from polished psone graphics,

PAL gamers will still be treated like crap

And i\'ll buy the following games... According to Aus. Release dates

Metal Gear solid 2
Tekken 4 (i\'ll steal the arcade booth if i HAVE TO GODDAMIT!!)
Tony Hawk 3
Capcom vs SNK 2 (IF it\'s online in australia and the modem/game bundle that\'s in japan comes out in australia)

so my whole ps2 collection will come up to 6

WOW, this is pretty cool.

-I\'m guessing that PS2 will still be on top.. Followed by GC, with X-Box at a distant third.

-Half the people currently on this board will be gone, replaced with other people.

-I won\'t be here anymore.. LOL!

I will have a new computer.

PS2 will remain the most popular console and have MANY great games by then.

I WILL be online with PS2 and have TM:B Online within the first week it releases.

My daughter will be able to stand on her own two feet and pretend to be able to walk.

That\'s just about it fer me!

The NGC and Xbox will both have very successful launches -- both selling out within the first week.

The Xbox will launch before the NGC in America (I think that rumor will turn out to be true.)

The Xbox launch will turn out to be a lot like the PS2 launch -- Some great games, and a lot of crappy ones.

The NGC launch will also turn out to be like the PS2 launch.

NGC: People will be dissapointed that most of the games are for a younger audience.

NGC: Most of the games won\'t be very ground breaking, but the little ones (and some big ones) will still flock to it.

NGC: That Star Wars game will sell the best, and SSB:Melee will come in second place.

Xbox: DOA3 will sell the best on launch, and Project Gotham will come in second place.

This Christmas, the NGC, the Xbox, and the PS2 will all sell out in one huge video game selling marathon.

The PS2 going online will be successful (I will be surprised if this turns out to be true.

). Over 1% of all PS2 owners will buy a Modem/Hardrive package by Christmas.

MGS2 will help the PS2 sales, but won\'t affect the NGC or Xbox sales.

XBox Japan launch- XBox sells about half-3/4 of the available systems, and comes out in Japan without shining.

NGC Japan Launch- All or almost of the systems sell out, a bit of a better launch for the NGC.

NGC US Launch- All Systems sell out, people are blow away by Rogue Leader.

XBox US Launch- Better than the Japan Launch, Sells out all of its systems.

Thanksgiving- PS2 is number 3 in sales, XBox is slightly above the PS2, GC is in 1st.

Christmas- XBox has fallen to number 3, PS2 sales strengthen to number 2, and GameCube outsells all of them.

After Christmas- XBox sales do fine, they don\'t really make a huge success. PS2 will compete with NGC with games like Zelda, and Mario comming out, making the NGC sales reign till about the Summer than I don\'t know what happens. The World explodes:p
