It’s that they want to keep the kids glued to Nintendo.  It doesn\'t mean that the kids market is all they are aiming for (although I believe it remains their main focus but, of course, that is a very debatable opinion).

Dammit, why am I so smart?

Kiddie is Japan sells, duh? Pokemon Gold and Silver sold 3 million each there and I believe Red and Blue sold the in the same area. The Japanese gaming market is totally different, damn shame none of you can pick up on that yet.

And do you expect Nintendo to advertise games like Luigi\'s Mansion and Smash Bros during "Hardcore Asian Porn Hour"? IDIOCY.

Once again, I am the voice of reasonning.

Pokemon burned holes in wallets globally, not just in Japan. I don\'t see your point there.

No, but I expect Nintendo to air their first Gamecube ads on regular channels, not Pooh\'s Magical Adventure.

Nintendo of America has a brand new Market Man, of course I bet hes going to do a really good job marketing the cube in the US. Since hes knew, he will probably market RL, SSBM, and ED. And of course, THE CUBE.

Nintendo has a big association with kids. Why would they want to change there image.  Peep this I was watching a tv program and some one brought up kids and then they started talking about kids computers and how they love nintendo. And right there I said nintendo will never change parents associate there kids with nintendo. So I don\'t see nintendo marketing any different than they have in past. Sure a lot of die-hard nintendo fans who are tired of ppl calling nintedo a kiddy system feel nintendo will change, BUT business wise they have no reason to change so don\'t expect them too. They appeal  to a large market that they have on their own. They bring in big profits without wasting money going outside there business strategy. And with xbox and ps2 battling after the same market nintedo can just let the duke it out and pick up the scraps without spending one dime.

Plus there will tons of games that ppl consider very kiddie and basicly there is noway for them to get out of this image. And anyways it does them very good. It does not harm nintendo it just an easy mark for playstation fans to poke fun at.

I guess Pokemon was a bad example them the point I\'m trying to make is that supposed kiddie games sell just as well as supposed all around games. Then again, that happens in America and Europe too...hhhhmmmm....

Nintendo will always dominate the younger market and they\'ll always make games to contain it. But that certainly doesn\'t mean they won\'t make games for everyone. :)

I dodged the bullet pretty well there...

The thing is, that IS a regular channel in Japan. Like I said, they\'re different from us. And for god\'s sake these are just Nintendo\'s FIRST ads, you can\'t speculate that all of them will follw suit. You can but it would be pretty dumb...

I love Nintendo, but sometimes i think they let the old-timers down by catering too much to a niche market/segment... IMO.

The link says:

All that will be scaled back, according to EA, is data related to the game\'s Franchise Mode -- specifically the career statistic tracking for players won\'t be supported. This is because of the relatively miniscule amount of memory available in the standard GameCube Digicard -- roughly half a megabyte, or 512k. The PS2 version\'s Franchise Mode requires 1.3MBs of data for saves, which the Digicards obviously don\'t have. EA says it is still exploring the possibility of utilizing the added memory storage capacity of SD Cards, which GCN supports through the usage of an SD Digicard Adapter, an addition that Nintendo is expected to release later this year.

Where exactly were Chrono\'s facts not straight?  Sure they\'re looking into a possablilty, but Chrono was right.

stats overall and career stats are different.

By saying "stats" it makes it seem like it is a very unfinished game. Without like how many yards X player ran in the last game.

career stats are only useful for franchise mode junkies and heavy season mode users.

It doesn\'t sound as bad if you say it correctly and not make it seem worse than it already is.

Ugh. He said STATS, implying EVERY POSSIBLE STATISTIC would not be save.

Don\'t bother replying, your dead wrong here.

EDIT: OMG! Me and Altered almost said the exact same thing at the exact same time! The don\'t bother responding part especially... Weird...
