PS2 Browser updates

I know some of us have been confusded over the whole browser differences (1.0 vs. 1.2, etc.).  Well, when calling about FFT I also asked about this, and here is what I got as a responce:

There is no functional difference between the browser editions.  Any time Sony corrects a spelling mistake, or adds another language, they are required to make a new version #.

So us peeps with all versions 1.0 probably have some spelling erros and maybe a few less languages to deal with.  Oh darn.

The only time we\'d have to worry about outdated Ps2 versions is if someone has a "2._"  being that the change from 1 to 2 means a change in the functioning mechanisms.  But Sony has no plans of ever doing that.

I did ask, he wasn\'t 100% sure, but basically there is no need for an update unless they change the functioning protocal.  Which for consoles should never happen.

I don\'t htink there is any way to "update" the version with software writing to the hardware.  In any event, there is no need to, and if for some odd reason it does become an issue Sony will have to come up with some cheap and effective way to alter everyone\'s PS2.

But again, I doubt it will ever happen.

I plan you use PlayOnline as my main one anyway. So it matters not either way for me. And even though they don\'t plan to they might. Thier may be another inovation that they just may want to put in. And if they ever did that they would probably just add it in with all the games that are being released.
