Sega. who else?
Where Sega\'s best Dev teams get comfortable decide on what consoles many Sega fans will buy.
The reason I am buying X-Box is because I KNOW many good Sega games are being made for it. Panzer Dragoon alone warrants a purchase for me.
They are also making Virtua Fighter 4 for PS2. Virtua Fighter is the biggest Japanese arcade game, and Virtua Fighter 3 was on the arcade top 10 list up until 2000, 4 years later. VF4 sales will be huge for PS2\'s success, even though, it is pretty much guaranteed already. I crap you not that if VF4 was moved to X-Box, and exclusive at that, MANY japanese people would be investing in X-Box.
Shenmue, while selling only about a million worldwide, will also be a huge push for any system. If it were announced today for \'X\' system, I would invest heavily into that, as a game of that scope and beauty deserves to be played. If Shenmue III is released on PS2 (doubtful because of harddisk avail.), a system that willl easily sell as well as much as N64 did, I guarantee sales of Shenmue will be huge.
Some people would disagree because Sega couldn\'t support their OWN system. Well, netheir can Nintendo, believe it or not. When Sega was going at DC alone, with the exception of Capcom, they were quit alone. SUre, 150 devs signed up, but who really made stellar titles for DC? hardly any, most crapped on Sega and developed them for PSX or waited for PS2. Namco releases one stellar title, then craps on Sega and releases Namco Museum (big ****ing whoop), Ms. Pacman\'s Maze Madness (whoopdeedoo!), and a couple others. No RR, no Tekken, no SC sequel, etc.
Who would\'ve bought an N64 without EA\'s sport titles? We all know that Akk-lame\'s sports couldn\'t hold it. Or what about Turok? arguably Acclaim\'s best titles in the past 5 years, some people consider it N64\'s best titles.
N64 would\'ve sold probably just 20 million worldwide before crapping out. Every system needs 3rd parties and Sega means alot, too any systemmaker for console sales, to get back on topic. All I know is, until I see Panzer Dragoon or JSR:F announced for any other system, I will be glad to purchase one on launch.
