Especially Xbox, with it\'s HD and tons of ram.

This issue is so old, PS2 will not grow as much as you think.

im glad you know it...although this issue should be discussed in console comparisons..i cant let go the fact that some people out there think that,  in time,  the ps2 will look better than what the xbox and gc will be pulling off in a few years...blurry textures and no anti-aliasing is not something that the ps2 can fix now..its too late and we have to swallow it...
no im not an xbox lover,  and i wish no good games would come out for it so that i wouldnt have to dishout money for it,  but in the long run,  when those good games do come around,  ill prolly have no choice but to surrender and buy one. :)

You know the problem with that logic? If no good games came out for the Xbox or Nintendo, then Sony would have a monoply on the industry. When they had a monoply, then the quality of games would go downhill (yes, it can get worse!). So, when you wish a console no success - you are in reality wishing that your hobby would just die away.

I say that because castlevania 64 was 3D and it sucked so bad, and was hard as s--t.

you make a good point there...but dont take my comment about \'no good games coming out on xbox\' too serious...i just say that because i need to save money right now...originally i wanted to have all 4 systems,  DC, PS2, Xbox and GC...but right now im happy with my dc and ps2 and wanna use my hard earned moeny on software,  not brand new hardware...
so far,  jet set radio future is on my must have list..but until a few more titles that catch my interest are announced for xbox,  then i will hold on to my flow..same goes for gc...if all they make is kiddie mario or pokemon sequels,  then ill save some flow there as well....but ofcourse,  then theres castlevania which will make me buy any system for...lol

The PC engine version is still the best one. :D  Any Castlevania lover should try to play it if they get the chance. I hope Konami doesn\'t attempt a 3D Castlevania any time soon.

Konami is releasing it in the US on the PS for all those gamers who just got started in the 32bit days.
It is being called Castlevania Chronicles: Akumajou Dracula X6800 . Release date? October 9th. Price? $20 bucks! So, if you are a new gamer who just started playing games durin\' the 32bit era or even the 16 bit era, it would be a very wise idea to pick up this little gem. It is part of gaming history.
;)

Cover Art for the original one.

Cover Art for the PS re-release.

ScreenShots !

There is plenty more, including a review of the Japanese release over at...
