Silence of the Lambs is actually a sequel to a movie called ManHunter . It was based off the novel   Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. It is alot better then Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal is a decent flick, I went and seen it on the night it came out. Not near as good as the book (which isn\'t that good in its own rights). I will probably pick up Hannibal when it comes out on the 21st, but I already own Manhunter (best in the series ;) ) and Silence of the Lambs.

Silence Of The Lambs sucks.

I thought it was supposed to be one of the scariest movies of all time but it was totally boring and quite crappy.

Haven\'t seen Hannibal though, but if it\'s anywhere near the lameness that Silence Of The Lambs is at, then it sucks too.

Hannibal sucked (not as good as the book and the book wasn\'t great either, like you said). Silence of the Lambs was better. I\'ve never seen ManHunter. And congratulations on your DVD purchase...

Sheesh.
Not everyone will like Silence of the Lambs. My G/F watched it for the first time two nights ago and she didn\'t like it. I don\'t personally care for it. I prefer Manhunter.

Silence of the Lambs is a good movie though, because of Jodi Foster. Her character , Clarice Starling has plenty of character development which is great.

The problem with the movie Hannibal is simple. They took a character (Hannibal) who really is only a minor character who serves to push the story along in both its prequels (ManHunter and Silence of the Lambs) and tried to make a whole movie off of him. It didn\'t work and the movie came up short. Way short.

I prefer SOTL to Manhunter, even if Michael Mann directed the latter.

heh.;)

I won\'t argue this with you. I\'m just happy that someone else knew ManHunter was the prequel to Silence of the Lambs.

By the way - for those who are going to buy Hannibal (including me) to bad we won\'t have the true special edition...

A longer 3+ hour cut of the film was purchased by CBS for a network TV run beginning in 2003. Ridley Scott is quoted as having initially cut a 3 hour version of the film that test screened, and that this cut will be made into a two night miniseries for CBS when they screen the film in 2003.

Among scenes removed from the final cut that may show up in the television version is a time filler in which Lecter picks up Krendler\'s dog and talks to it while going over flower arrangements for his party.

There ya\' go.. I hate these damn editions.
Just give us one version.
