The "origin Of Fanboy"
« on: August 10, 2001, 03:00:53 PM »
OK that word fanboy has become a popular term on all forums around the net. I would like to know when did it start and how did it get so popular.. The first time I even heard someone say fanboy was about a 1yr  ago. But it was still not used bye everyone. But now it is a common word and everyone uses it. I would just like to know when did it start and when did you first hear it.
\"confucious say - he who sleeps with itchy ass wakes up with smelly fingers\".
\"dont trust anything that bleeds for a week and dont die\" - A pimp
\"FF7 was the greatest game ever made!!!\" -MM

What\'s a fanboy? ;) I\'m just kidding. I don\'t care where it came from. The first time I heard it was about 2 years ago...in a forum, no less...

For
And
Nor
But
Or
Yet
So

:D (Ask your English teacher about it.)

From what I can tell, the term Fanboy was used to describe hardcore comic book junkies, the type that would dress as Guido the Magical Mafia Octopus or Luke Skywalker or Superman. Basically, comic book fans who are completely detached from reality.
