How many people have time for games??
« on: August 10, 2001, 04:53:44 PM »
I\'ll be a freshman this year, and after hearing about all the crap you have to go through in your freshman year, I\'m thinking about not getting any console. It\'d distract my studying, and I won\'t have any time playing games anyway. So... anyone else having a similar problem??

On a side note, wouldn\'t it be bad buisness to direct games to people my age (15 ~ 25)?? The ones who have to juggle like 5 projects at once and barely have time to eat. Just a thought.

I had more time for games in college than any other time in my life.  Now I have a job and karate/kickboxing class and other crap.  Hey it\'s 9:14pm and I have yet to even turn on my PS2 today.

Some advice for you:  50% or more of Freshman flunk out or withdraw in or after the first semester.  I saw it happen every semester.  Games are great, but you have to know when to put homework before them.  And staying up til 2am doesn\'t help either.

BTW, if you plan on rushing a fraternity, that\'s going to take up a lot of your time.

I work 40 hours a week and I\'m a sophomore in college (taking 12 hours).

I still have time to read, play videogames, and go to the gym every week.  (and find time to be here!)

I play games probably 3-4 hours out of the week.  I workout everyday for an hour.  I try to pick up a book for about an hour every other day.  I usually set aside every other weekend for my friends.  I try to stay busy...

Kinda puts limits to what kind of games you can play like time- crunching rpgs. Sucks doesn\'t it? It\'s a constant juggling act between school, games, social life, a job, girlfriend etc....

Not as much as I use to. Dating, studying and things take off a lot of time. Then I start a job in September, so that will cut alot of time also. Thank god its only three days a week. That does allow me *some* time for games.

I miss the days of just sittin\' on the couch all day in my Winnie the Pooh boxers, while soda cans lined up around me (I use to drink soda) and I played games all day and night.
God, those was times was sweet...

I miss being five durin\' the summer...:(

LIC, I am totally feeling you on this. I remember the days of having my friend sleep over and we would spend the whole day in crusty pajamas playing games like Super Mario Bros. Damn, remember Alex kidd, the first Phantasy star on the sega master system, zillion(do people remember this game?). Oh man let me stop while I\'m ahead because I\'m starting to get depressed. Oh how fun it was to be a gamer in those days!!!

But the things is, the temptation\'s too much to handle [for me]. I remember locking my room and muting my TV just so I could play Ogre Battle 64 when mid-terms were right in front of my face. That\'s one of the main reasons I sold my N64... the damn thing was too tempting.

I think you have to stay up until 2am studying anyway. That\'s the regular time freshmen go to sleep I hear.

I had to look up fraternity. Rushing society or organization is gonna take a lot of time??
