I hope sony does not put this big lack of innovation in ps3
« on: August 11, 2001, 07:57:19 PM »
What I am talking about is that damn psx controller. I mean even in atari 2600 and 5600 days we got a new pad. If there is one thing I don\'t want to see in the ps3 is the same old damn controller. I have always felt that it was way to small and rip of nintendo pads. One thing you can\'t say about nintendo is there lack of innovation. At least in the super Nes which took the name of the successful nes we saw a redesign controller. I bet we will see the same old psx controller in ps3. Because it looks like sony loves that pad so much. And I know some lUV sony to death. Become that is really lame to have the same design in two generation and it could be three. One thing I luv about sega consoles is there controllers. Even though I was not a big supporter of sega saturn..I will say that was one of the best controllers I have held if not the best. And besides the controller lets pray to god they don\'t call it the ps3.

That is the only flaw I have with ps2 is I don\'t see how they could not even attempt to design a different pad. I mean I felt the snes pad was on of the best pad nintendo has made, but I did not want to see it in the n64. It is just something to think about even if you love it or hated. And I am not saying that it is the worst pad because it is not. But I do feel that in this technical age we should not get the same piece of hardware twice. I would just like to know how everyone else feels about this.

There is an old saying, "if it isn\'t broke, don\'t fix it". Sony follows that and rightfully so. While, it is not my favorite controller design (that goes to the Japanese Saturn controller) it isn\'t "broke" so to speak, so why waste time tryin\' to fix it ?

Why change anything? Why change the design of the 2000 ford explorer? Why change the design of any car? Because technolgy and designs are forever changing. And there is always a better design that can be achieve. And it also shows innovation and ingenuity. And for competition sake you should at least try come up with new and innovative designs. There is noway you can say that there is not a better design controller that sony can design. And for the buck we pay we should get a totally brand new design. I think is only fitting.

The PlayStation controller is definitely my favorite...

its a BIG ****ing bonus that they didnt improve the controllers...i cant afford to buy 4 DS2\'s...and most games can use the DS1\'s...save a **** load of money

plus the design is good enough...why upgrade the design for the sake of upgrading?

There also needs to be more innovation in naming long game series. The Final Fantasy series is OK, because the RPG aspects are more important, but in the future we\'ll be seeing boring names such as Mario Party 5 (for the "GameHyperCube" or whatever Nintendo\'s next system is after GC).

Hmmmmmm............at least ps had rpg\'s unlike some other kiddy console on the market.  Another thing is like nintendo doesn\'t keep coming out with those stupid mario party games and those stupid pokemon games.  Come nintendo work on metroid or a new punch out game instead of all this kiddy crap.:thepimp: :thepimp:
