Kazunori Yamauchi has stated that he has done \'all he can\' on the PS2 hardware.

I have just finished reading an interview that pstow has posted on the GT3 forum.

He states that he has done all he can on the PS2 hardware...

This gets me kinda concerned. Is he stating that GT3 (graphically) is the best he can do???

It is only a 2nd gen game, and I think that the PS2 must be capable of doing more then what he has portrade.

I also get the feeling from reading the interview that GTN or GT ONLINE will not be graphically superiour to GT3. That is a real worry.

Well, read the interview at the GT3 forum posted by pstwo, because that is basically what it states...

I thought you meant the old interview.. (where he never said graphics)

Im sure he doesnt want to promisse to much.. He might be waiting for PA2.
From what Ive read GT3 does not max-out PS2..
Its useing around 50-60% (maybe 70%) of PS2s polygon power..

I\'m confused now ##RaCeR##...I\'m almost sure(from what I read) that PS2 can do much better  in 3,4 and 5th generation of games...even the latest PSX games look much better than the early games...but he has clearly stated *We\'ve done everything we can on the PS2, so I decided we should all get away from work before taking the next step*...The next step on PS3...that\'s what he means ?!...or in the next 2 or 3 years on PS2?(because he also said "we\'ve pretty much done everything we can right now"and"we can\'t do the next generation of Gran Turismo on the PS2 right now. )....I\'m worried people...really worried !...Will we see the real-next-GT on PS2?....

The PS3 isn\'t coming out until 2005 at the earliest...I don\'t think he\'ll wait 4 years to release another GT.  

New tricks will be learned and the PS2 will begin to see it\'s limits...but I don\'t think we\'re to that point yet.

Remember GT2000??

He said they\'d release it with PS2.. But they changed their mind.

I think the same thing will happen here.. GTN will become GT4.
When better looking games come out (Stuntman, Getaway ect) Yamauchi-san want to polish his product to make it the best one possible..

the games will just get better and better i mean compare teken 1 to tekken 3 for example.....it will take them a bit of time to get used to to all the hardware etc

Does anyone know who develops the performance analyser or when the next one will be coming out? :cool:

Im not sure..
But I think Sony and Toshiba develops the PA2..
PA2 will be avalible early 2002 I think..

(Note: Im not 100% sure.. So dont take them as facts!)

I\'m sure PlayStation 2 has more tricks up it\'s sleeve:D

ajoh432, I agree with you.  PS2 can do more, other developers can do it.  GT3 could have more graphics but I think the time frame in finishing the game was the problem.

I was referring to the Next Step,the real Next GT...and not to another GT...and from the interview,at first, it wasn\'t so clear what Kazunori meant

However I think we\'ll see "GTN" in 2002(a killer-up to push the on-line gaming) and "GT4"(the next step) in 2004-2005...only my opinion....let\'s wait and see.....

What I understand is that he is saying he is taking a vacation cause right now he has done his best work, he is happy with his final work and he is not thinking in the next gen GT. I think he meant: "Come on!! Leave me alone!!!, GT3 is just 2 months old and you already want a new one? Enjoy what I just gave you and let me rest so I can think of more things to add in the next GT"
