This gets me kinda concerned. Is he stating that GT3 (graphically) is the best he can do???

It is only a 2nd gen game, and I think that the PS2 must be capable of doing more then what he has portrade.

I also get the feeling from reading the interview that GTN or GT ONLINE will not be graphically superiour to GT3. That is a real worry.

Hmm, i think that guy was just blabing out of his Azz, he meant that "he" can not do anything at this point... i\'m sure given time they will make the GT line of games better. even on a PS2. ;)

I will be very dissapointed if GT3 is the best that we will see (graphically) on the PS2...

Otherwise I am headed for X-Box land until PS3 is out...

I doubt GT3 is the best the PS2 can do. However, I\'m not expectiing big leaps in graphically quality either. Yamauchi probably just pushed the system as far as he can at this point. And while they can change and improve a thing or two here and there, GT3 graphics is still the best, and other games will have a hard time beating it. However, while we probably won\'t have a leap in quality of graphics afterwards for a while, I expect some games to look just as good, or even better then GT3 in the games of the next generation or so on the PS2 (not PS3 yet).

com\'on ppl... What else CAN he say?
GT3 is the PS2\'s flagship title. If they didn\'t do all they could with the PS2 (at the time) why release it? It would be an incomplete game. Any developer who states that they could have done more with their title is kinda screwing themselves. I mean, why say the game could be better when they didn\'t make it better?

IMO i think he meant that they\'ve done all they can at the present time. Things can only get better;)

If he used his brain, he would say that he has even better things up his sleeve... For GT4

Start the anticipation already.

"It\'s obvious that Yamauchi\'s favorite element of GT3 isn\'t the actual racing gameplay or lush visuals-it\'s the religious attention to detail paid to each vehicle\'s road handling. In fact Yamauchi says that although it\'s possible for future iterations of the GT series to feature better graphics, he doubts they\'ll surpass the realism of GT3\'s physics model. "

He don\'t want to make just an update. He wants to create a complete new experience, and not just more cars, better graphics and an online mode. And he said that the next generation of GT is sheduled to be released end of 2003, but we know what it means (GT2000 at launch? Of course...)

I\'m not ready to believe that we\'ve seen the best of PS2 this early - but, GT3 is really good-looking, and other racer-games will have a hard time to beat it.

I ask you one question - are graphics so important to you that you\'ll move to X-box just because of them? To me, no. If GT3 has best graphics a racer-game can offer, I\'m very happy with it.

It is the soul of the game, not the looks, that matter.

I\'m impressed with the graphics of GT3, but yes, the graphics can be better. However, better graphics are not going to make me stand in line for the Xbox at launch either. Graphics are only one component that makes a great game. Gameplay, depth, and so on. So, if the PS2 games has the last two, with graphics just as good as GT3 (though I\'m confident, it can do better) thats just fine by me.
