Whats the difference between the disk speed fast and normal and the difference between smooth normal.  I\'ve tried both settings on games and I can\'t see the difference.

More importantly, does these settings affect DVD play?

There is a difference between the disk speed. If you set it on fast speed, it will make you PSone games load faster.  For the smooth , if you set the textures setting on smooth it will make your PSone games textures look more smooth.   ;)
