Help with my PS2 connection!!!!
« on: August 18, 2001, 02:43:01 PM »
Hi guys,

I\'m new to PS2 and just bought it. Unfortunately, I got an old TV that doesn\'t has any RCA or A/V input. I have a VCR though that has a single video/audio input and output. But how can I connect my PS2 to my VCR and then to my old TV??

I don\'t want to buy that RFU adapter because it degrades the picture and sound quality a LOT!!!

Thanks for any input.

I think that the RFU adapter may be your only choice...:( There may be some way to hook it up to your VCR, but I have a new TV and have never had to resort to that...

Well savage even if you were to connect through your VCR you would still get the same quality as with the RF switch because the only way to hook anything up to your TV is through a coaxial line. Your only real option is to get a new TV.

yeah so then you will have to get rid of that old 70\'s tv, and get a nice one, never use a adapeter, it makes it look horrible.

if you have enough money, buy a hdtv, because that will give you the best picture quality.!
IM BACK. you have a problem with that? get in the back.

hdtv\'s are horribly expensive i dont think he can get one, he is having enough trouble dealing with the fact that he need a new tv. I think in about 5 years hdtv\'s will be cheap enough to become commonplace.

If you ant to watch DVD\'s you CANNOT hook the PS2 through your VCR, they have a thing called Macrovision in it that messes up the video, so an RF cable is your only option...or a new TV

mebbe, but htv\'s technology is increasing even further. so the price will stay the same IMO for awhile.

Actually I don\'t intend to watch DVD. By the way, any good recommendation on TV that cost less than $300?
