IOGEAR announced today that it has released a new FireWire hub called the i.LINK Battle Hub that has been made for use with Sony\'s PlayStation 2 game console. The compact six port FireWire hub allows PS2 owners to link up multiple machines to each for multiplayer play in games such as Gran Turismo 3 A-spec, Unreal Tournament and future titles that support this function of the system. "Half the fun of home gaming is being able to fight your friends in direct competition," said Kevin Luong, senior channel sales manager at IOGEAR, Inc. "IOGEAR\'s i.Link Battle Hub is just the tool for PlayStation 2 gamers who want to battle their buddies for the top position."i.Link Battle Hub can additionally be used to attach multiple peripherals to computers running Mac OS X or greater and Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, ME and XP. The product is IEEE 1394 / 1394a compliant and supports hot swapping. IOGEAR\'s hub comes equipped with three 6 to 4 pin FireWire cables, one power adapter and a three-year warranty. The hub carries a suggested retail price of $99 and should be available at most stores that carry PlayStation 2 products.
