Anyone else thinks this is strange?

arcade racer  vs: Driving simulator

hows that

don\'t get me wrong Ginko. I like Sonic, but no matter what happens I probably would pass up on any PS2 Sonic for other games

I really want to see some original stuff from Sega, and I actually wish Sony would invest or purchase some exclusive stuff from one or 2 of Sega\'s dev houses

You kinda missed the point~

Both are racing games, but they both have something the other just can\'t give.  Same with Sonic and J&D. Both adventure/platform, but very different goals in mind when they were in developement.

See, I don\'t understand the whole exclusive thing.  I know that some games would help drive sales and attention, but it just isn\'t right.  I\'m actually suprised that Sega allowed VF4 to be exclusive for a whole year, and kinda pissed.  Same with Jet Grind and Panzer being Xbox only.  Everyone should get to play those games.

Monkey Ball, Space Channel 5, Floigan Bros., Samba De Amigo, Skies of Arcadia, Fighting Vipers.

Sega cranks out the goods all the time, I\'m sure they have a few suprises ready for 2002...

Well in that argument I have to say you kinda missed my point

Sonic just doesn\'t do enough for me to the point where I prefer to play the other over it. What Sonic offers is not enough to make me want to play it or have it on the system. Others want it and thats fine,

as for exclusive , it doesn\'t matter, but if Sony is going to invest into Sega for something original then its goes without saying it would be exclusive

At this point Sega just doesn\'t seem intereted at all at making  newer original content for any system. Its a money thing for them at this point.

There is nothing coming from Sega to the PS2 that I\'m really interested in. PSO will be cool when ever it gets here after that not much

I completely understand the personal preference thing.  Here\'s mine.  I love racing games.  I like the arcade style miles more than a simulation.  I would pass up any GT game for Daytona, Sega Rally, Super GT Racing, Ridge Racer.  There...

But anyway, I think Panzer Dragoon 4 will be exclusive to Xbox.  I\'m sure MS paid for that one big time.  Same goes for Jet Grind Radio.

As for, "At this point Sega just doesn\'t seem intereted at all at making newer original content for any system. Its a money thing for them at this point."

WTF are you talking about?  In the past two years they have created Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5, Seaman, Samba De Amigo, Ogga Bogga, Sega GT, Out Trigger, Floigan Bros...That\'s more original content than any other company you can come up with.

What exactly makes you think that they\'re gonna stop with new original content now?  I would think that without the restriction of one system, they would be able to imagine and create alot more...

They have made a lot of new stuff, but right now, all they are doing is porting their games to make a little more money.  That is what ddaryl is talking about.  Yes, they will have new stuff in the future, but right now, they are just trying to milk the games that are already made for all they\'re worth by porting them to other consoles.

Ogga Booga, Floigan Bros., Monkey Ball, Out Trigger...all new(some not out yet) and for DC, GC, and where ever else they decide to put them.

Then you have PSOnline 2, Virtua Striker 3, Virtua Fighter4, the 2K series, Crazy Taxi Next, House of the Dead 3, Panzer Dragoon 4, Jet Grind Radio Future, Shenmue 3.  Some of those titles won\'t even touch DC...making my point they are not just working off of ports.
