heh heh
AMD isn\'t bad, they still beat Intel when it comes to raw FPU calculations, Intel only beats AMD when the code has been heavily SSE.2 optimized.
The P4 ain\'t bad, it\'s just not as scalable as the Athlon, it runs hotter because it doesn\'t have an heat spreader like the Pentium has, but that also lowers cost, and helps when you cool the proc with an acceptible heatsink.
And the thing to keep in mind is that the current socket423 which Intel uses wil be scrapped in a short while in favour of socket478 and Intel won\'t support it any more, unlike AMD who will continue to use it\'s SocketA bus for some time.
(altough the ironic thing is, that AMD licensed the EV6 (socketA) bus from Alpha, then Intel bought Alpha, so AMD is using an Intel bus)
AMD is the way to go my friend.
