Random Resident Evil facts / thoughts.
« on: August 29, 2001, 07:38:06 AM »
1: Wesker\'s hair went from brown in Resident Evil (1) to blonde in Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

2:The way the item menu is reached has changed over time. IN the original you pressed "start" to reach it but in future installments you would press "O" .

3: Apparently Umbrella has a new virus that makes the zombies speedy, because in each installment it seems the zombies just keep getting faster.

4: Steve \'s(Code Veronica) hairstyle has changed from the DC version to the PS2 port.

5: Jill isn\'t the brightest girl in the world, as demostrated in Resident Evil (1) when she takes the shotgun and the ceiling starts to come down on her and all she can say is, "hey whats going on here?" . Yet she is part of an elite task force.

6: Resident Evil : Code Veronica totally ignores the gameplay advancements brought into the series with Resident Evil 3, such as dodging and making your own ammo.

7: Just how exactly does Tyrant get on the jet in Code Veronica? If anyone knows the answer to this, please fill me in. I\'ve went through Code Veronica four times and I have still yet to see how exactly a big guy like Tyrant gets in the jet.

8: If Resident Evil : Code Veronica is regarded as a side-story, can we expect a Code Veronica 2? If you find the "extra" journal in battle mode, it sets  up the chance for a sequel to Code Veronica. How about that, two different Resident Evil universes...Yikes!

9: Resident Evil 3 totally ignores everything decent about the series. It becomes more action based and has random puzzles. Early development of Resident Evil 2 was leaning more towards the action and was canceled (now known as Biohazard 1.5), yet Resident Evil 3 made it past Capcom\'s quality control? Can we all say "cash cow"? Yes, I thought we could.

10: If Resident Evil 0 takes place before Resident Evil 1 and has Rebecca Chambers , who was also in Resident Evil 1 , why didn\'t she inform the team about the hell they was getting into? Maybe, I\'m the only one confused about what Capcom plans to do with these prequels they keep making up.

11: Resident Evil is five years old this year and has saw the release of seven games. Resident Evil, Resident Evil : Directors Cut, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 2 : Dual Shock edition, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil :  Code Veronica and a stupid shooter known as Resident Evil: Survivor.  This is not counting ports of Resident Evil (Saturn), Resident Evil 2 ( N64) , Resident Evil: Code Veronica X ( PS2) and of course the  PC ports.

12: We never find out who "Nemesis" is really. Yes, he is a creature by Umbrella but I need more detail than that. He was chasing me durin\' the whole damn game, I would of at least liked to have his home address..

13: Jill and Carlos go to take care of Umbrella in the end of Resident Evil 3 . Claire and Chris go to do the same thing in the end of Code Veronica. Will they all meet up and have a happy reunion in four? And what about Leon, damnit?

LOL, wow, you are really into this game.
I\'m playing CV and it isn\'t bad as games go,
but i do not like dying, and having to start from the beginning
of the level because the control is well... different... i guess
i\'m used to controls like in MGS, or Tomb raider...

Which RE is the scariest?

Yes yes the whole Resident Evil world seems to make no sense at all sometimes, the controls suck, the voice acting is mediocre at best, and in the first couple of games the animation wasn\'t great either. What makes the RE series great is the storyline, which is, like I said, sometimes fractured and doesn\'t make sense.

But hell, you get to run around monster infested buildings and stuff with big freakin\' guns, trying to solve some mystery about bio-hazardous, mutating, viruses. And that r0x0rz.

I think the scariest RE was RE1.And one of the reasons was the control.
After that the series got more action packed:mad: .And easier too.

 Thanks, Ooseven.

As for which RE was the best - that would go to RE (1). The ammo was limited, so you couldn\'t kill most the zombies and you had limited saves also. Use them all up and you couldn\'t save by half way through the game or so.
Was great.

the scariest one was RE1, mainly because that was the first one i played.  AND, it is much harder than any other RE.

I didn\'t play Code Veronica X, yet.
How is it, is it worth playin ( dont say anything about devil may cry, i want to know this about RE )

Wasn\'t Wesker\'s hair always blond? I seem to remember that it was always blond, but I could be wrong.

The T Virus which makes zombies. Well, viruses can mutate...;)

Also, I\'m still wondering how RE:CV is a side story, while RE3 (which really takes place before and after RE2) is the "true" sequel. True, RE3 had the main charecter from RE1, but RE2 didn\'t have any of the original charecters yet is that also a true sequel? RE:CVX takes place 3 months after RE2 (and subsequently, RE3).

Nemisis, was rumored to be Wesker (which, as you know, turned out false...or was changed since he now appears in RE:CV). Now Nemisis, for the most part, is just another test tube tyrant.

RE:CV was being worked on, from what I heard, by a different company (in fact, Sega worked on part of the game). So, while Capcom (or whoever) worked on RE3 put in these gameplay options (dodge, turn around fast, etc.), another company or group, working on the DC version of RE:CV, added the 3d background, but not the gameplay additions of RE3.

Given all these charecters are all now fighting the same enemy (Umbrella), chances are, they will meet eventually.
Opinions are not important.

Resident Evil will seem like an episode of the Three Stooges when you play Silent Hill. Silent Hill is truly scary, if you\'re in the dark. There\'s very little music, and the music you DO hear is very very mindbending. Your ammo is EXTREMELY limited, you only get three types of guns (each with increasingly rare ammo), and a bunch of melee weapons.

Load up Resident Evil (1) and you\'ll see Wesker\'s hair is brown. :)

I\'m not sure on the side story thing. I saw an interview in EGM, I believe and they considered it a side story. I personally think it is more a sequel than Resident Evil 3.

Nemesis is nothing more than a biologically enhanced version of Tyrant "programmed" to hunt down all remaining STARS team members.  He was put in Raccoon City for that one purpose and that\'s what he did, to an extent.  There\'s no secrecy behind him, Umbrella needed the STARS members wiped out and Nemesis was sent in to do the job.

As for REC:V being a side story, it is.  Claire\'s search for her brother has nothing to do with Umbrella.  It\'s when they go after Umbrella finally at the end when it actually rejoins the story.  I\'d also like to note that RE3 was nothing more than a way to fill in the gaps of the story.  I mean, they had to do SOMETHING with the city so the zombies didn\'t just spread across America now right?

RE3 Spoiler ahead:

Side Note:  The largest peice of BS is the ending to RE3 where they nuke the city.  I\'m sorry, but a helicopter is not fast enough to escape a nuclear explosion.  The EMP wouldda made them crash into a fiery death, but I suppose they need SOMEONE to drive the plot.
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

Here\'s a few things to think about.

Half of RE3 takes place before RE2, including the half that Jill goes into the Po-leece station.

When Jill goes in, many doors are boarded up, the entire front of the station is in ruins, and the black cop is already dead. Nemesis smashes the window at the bottom of the stairs, and Jill takes either a Magnum or a Grenade launcher from the STARS office.

A day LATER, when Leon/Claire venture in, a lot of the boarded up doors are now easily accessible, the black cop is still alive (and zombifies), the window is intact, and both the Magnum and the GL are still where Jill took em (depending on whose game you play)

How can Leon cap a zombie with one head shot from his gun in the RE2 intro, but when you play you gotta use 5-6 shots?

In the RE3 intro, you see Zombies SWARMING the city, hundreds, thousands of them. Yet during the game you\'re lucky if you see 200.

If Raccoon City is a "Small Midwestern town", how could over 100,000 people die when it\'s nuked? Not many Small Midwestern towns have a hundred thousand people in them...

Wait, Rebecca Chambers is gonna be in a PREQUEL?  What, will she be 10??  Seems kinda weird... do they check old stories before writing new ones?

Nemesis killed the cop but he was also infected with Nemesis\' virus.Thats why he became a zombie later.
