The new Zelda
« on: August 31, 2001, 12:07:03 PM »
There has been alot of fuss about the new Zelda game\'s graphic style. There have been people who were annoyed, people who forced themselves to like the new image(or "had to get used to it"), and others who thought the Zelda series had always been cartooney. Well, I think it looks pathetic, and will never forgive Nintendo. Now, I can imagine Jumpman saying at this point "you can\'t see past graphics"...well, I can, but this is a brand new, next generation Zelda game, a game I have been looking forward to for ages, and I expect more. I will not play a game which stars a legendary game hero reproduced to look like a childish, homosexual, a game which had been maturing on the N64 and now is taking a step bawards, a game which I had high hopes for which are now shattered. I\'d rather Nintendo simply used the N64 graphics than this. At least they\'d be playable, and wouldn\'t make me crak up an/or cry whenever I looked at them.

And to people who think the graphics were always cartooney-hello, those were the SNES days! Most SNES and NES games looked cartooney, including the early Metal Gear Solid. That was what the technology allowed then, 2d, cartooney looking, simple graphics.

And the new look is not  unique. Cel Shading is quite common now.

I had to get this off my chest.

No really, I don\'t. I wouldn\'t of responded to this anyways if you didn\'t mention my name. And who are you telling to grow up?

My comment there was not stupid as you are trying to say, it was actually quite a valid point. Nintendo destroyed Link.

That is your opinion that nintendo destroyed link, I think they re-invented him. I\'m glad they went another direction with the game. I look very forward to playing the new cell-shaded zelda as it looks like it is going to be really fun to play.

Well obviously you\'ve never seen what Link looked like 2 years before OoT came out. *shudders* Valid point? Not even close considering his design will most likely change. The game is very early in development still. It\'s coming out X-Mas 2002 in Japan.

Another one bites the dust.
