Ever had a power failure during a game?

I had just finished an endurance race in Gran Tourismo 3 and the Formula 1 car was shown as the prize car, when "CRACK"  lightning struck and the power went out!!!!!

I wanted to club a baby seal I was so pissed.

This has also happened to me while playing Resident Evil: CV


What games have you played and what natural disasters caused them to come to an abrupt hault?

It happened to me a few times and I was so pissed off :rpissed:. I was playing Snood on my computer, beating a high score when zap, no power. I yelled out literally "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". It happened when I was playing a game and kicking @$$ when out goes the power and everything is lost.

Last time it happened to me was when i was just getting the last piece of equipment before becoming a dragon master in lunar.

My most memorable one was once when the power went out when I had played 3 hours worth of FF7 without saving, luckily I restrained myself and didnt crack the game over my knee

funny how it always happens when you are at a critical part of a game???

never happened to me though, but my brother turned ti off once, and i beat him down...

Perhaps a battery backup....

You know you CAN buy a battery backup like they use with PCs just to power your PS2 and TV (NOTHING ELSE!) or just your PS2...

That\'ll certainly give you time to save before the battery runs down.

It happend to me while I was saving GT2. The rest of my memory card was ok but my GT2 data was corrupted. I lost my 97% completion and about 50 cars :mad: :mad: :mad:

I never had the power go out on me but i did have my mom pull the Secret of Mana cartridge out of my SNES when I was about 12 when I stopped doing chores.  Never beat that Mana Beast...

I haven\'t had any blackouts while playing a game, but these have happened:
1. I once accidentally pulled Super Smash Bros. out of my N64 without turning it off first. (No data loss.)
2. Power surges keep erasing the 4th file in my Paper Mario cartridge. (That file belongs to one of my friend\'s friends, who doesn\'t really play Paper Mario anymore.)

Yup, and at one of the worst possible times in one of the worst games to have a blackout on. I had lost a Parasite Wear: Del Rol that a friend let me dupe on PSO after my computer crashed and somehow managed to fry my character Tesla. (Damm you Bill Gates!!! HOW? I thought I was safe from your meddling on the DC!)  So anyhow, I\'m leveling up my RAmar SludgeVohaul in the forest and come across an extreemely rare Rag Rappy. I kill it and low an behold.. he dropped a PW: Del Rol! 4 slots too. Unbelieveable. So as I progress to F2 I notice it\'s starts storming outside. No biggie, I\'d just turn off after I killed the Dragon Boss.

Now PSO is very touchy in that if you don\'t quit & save before your DC shuts off.. then you loose all the items you\'re carrying except for what\'s equiped along with any levels and stats you\'ve gained in that play session. Well before I knew it a thunderbolt struck closeby and knocked all the power out here for about 10 mins.

The brightside is, this was while my PC was down I bought a VGA adaptor and moved the DC in so I had it plugged into the powerbar my puter is normally plugged into. That powerbar in turn is plugged into a 4 hour battery backup. So the screen just flickered a bit and I kept on playing. Well, I deposited the PW in the bank and then quit. Figured I\'d already dodged the bullet once, better not push my luck. :)

I feel your pain, I had the same thing with GT2, again on the last lap of my winning endurance race:eek: :mad: I had been playing for about 5 hours straight. Unfortunatly I hadm\'t saved at all, all my lil precious cars gone
