Kutaragi - "I think 3DO was a much, much nicer platform

....than Xbox"

After a brief rundown of the top 25 most powerful people in the gaming industry, NextGen interviewed their no. 1 selection, none other than Ken Kutaragi. The interview was pretty lengthy, and Kutaragi-san seemed to be thinking at about a mile a minute. In one particularly funny excerpt, he exclaims "I think 3DO was a much, much nicer platform than Xbox." He said as such because "Trip Hawkins had vision--a clear vision, and a clear dream" as opposed to Microsoft\'s somewhat hazy conveyance of the message as to what Xbox is.



Well he is either stupid or scared one of the two.  I just heard xbox sold out in Toyrus in 30 min.  3d0 sucked, plain and simple, xbox imo will be a great console the hype for it just began and the sale for the preorders are taking off.  Xbox is here to stay people.  Not to mention all the 3rd party support it been getting.:thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:

True but I will guarantee you that xbox will do and be better than 3do.  Plus the box seems to be doing well in the U.S.  As for japan well..................I might sell over there I hope.:thepimp:

anyway. Trip Hawkins had squirrels in his pants, and still does. 3DO never had even the slightest clue what IT was. interactive multimedia, aerobics instructor, game machine, movie player, etc. Like PS2, only executed soooooo much worse.

3DO sucked, plain and simple. THe design was not future compatible. They barely put any power in it, 2d or 3D.

it just sucked.

I do like Killing Time, though.

I think a Jaguar would destroy Bill Gates but an Xbox would overpower a Jaguar due to its house like size. Jaguars are very agile though but not as agile as cheetahs. Which BTW are spotted to give them added camo in the african serengeti much like the pocka dotted shirts that were popular in the 80s. Which coincidentaly followed the 70s and by some odd stroke of fate was the decade that Microsoft was founded. Do you see? Its 6 degrees of seperation and I\'m Kevin Bacon.

   Let me guess, you are bitter about buying a 3DO from years past?

   There is only one 3DO and thats not xbox.  Trip Hawkin\'s is just upset that Microsoft could pull off something he couldn\'t.  Like good games and industry support.  doh!

   Sony is clearly scared or they wouldn\'t have said anything.  Clearly, they are feeling the heat.

   I honestly don\'t blame them.  I find it embarassing that xbox has better launch titles than the PS2 which were in development a lot longer.  If I was sony, I would be upset too.

LOL@L-I-C, dude, thats funny as hell, and true. Ole kenny boy talks with his head up his ass most of the time. He needs to locate his head, put it back on his shoulders, and think of a better couple of sentences to say. 3D0 sucks, and so does Trip Hawkins, lol. BTW, so does Jason Rubins, they all sit back thinking that Sony will always be in the console wars. Well they will, but we shall see if PS2 holds up the Quailty of the XB titles.

hmm..i dont think the n64 was so hot in japan either,  but the goodie goodie american families kept it alive here....

ok why make a big deal out of the same old he said this about xbox and this guy said this about PS2

its all the same i swear and then of course someone like docwiz says - well the only reason they said that is because they are scared of them


ummm no they only reason anyone says that sort of stuff is :

1.They are stupid and cant think of something better to say
2.Its their competition - what do you expect them to say - that "a" console is as good if not better then "b" console - thats not the way it works

its not so much scared - i mean hello - PS2 is doing quite well and has a large user base and japan support - as well as Xbox has a large following and lots of 3rd party support

neither have a reason to be scared - they are noth gonna make some moola this time around
