The EYE, I appreciate your position on your own country, and am glad you have been brought up by people who have learned something from that tragic legacy of WW2.
However, do you realize how many of your countrymen, who did NOT feel the same way as the few true innocents, we had to kill to, as you say, liberate your country? These people in these terroristic states, much like Nazi-controlled Germany, have been taught that human life, when stacked against an ultimate agenda of terror for the sake of their goals, means absolutely nothing.
Also, this war that the gov. is planning sounds dangerously close to the kind of imprecise(sp), impotent kind of fighting we already have been doing. Buzz words such as "collateral damage" that have been popping up recently, are being thrown around generously, threatening to dampen the effects of US retaliation.
I am telling you now, steel yourselves for the coming retribution, please. Harden your hearts and think of the consequences of a nonchalant approach to the destruction of these individuals. In the coming months you will see civillian deaths, by the thousands, but, you MUST take the mindset our grandfathers took when we carpet-bombed Japan with incendiary devices, or the round-the-clock bombing inflicted upon the people of Germany. Unfortunately, these people must be taken, and we have to have a callous soul, or ultimately, another WTC will occur.
It may be London.
It may be Berlin.
It may be Lux, for all we know. But it WILL happen if we can\'t view it this way.
And, to put it bluntly, you ask, "What will this accomplish?".
Well, simply put, the schooling you wanted these children to undergo, will be undone. Ie; they have already been attending school. Look at the video. They have been attending terrorist school.
PS- Eye, don\'t take this as me saying your opinion is wrong, or that your viewpoint must be changed. I merely am pointing out similiarities in history, that I don\'t want to see repeated, be it recent (a few days ago), or decades ago. I mean no disrespect in saying what I have here today.
