So is the European PS2 price drop now official?

I found this at the IGN boards.  It looks like the PS2\'s price has dropped about 30% in Europe.  (from 999 Guilders to 699, and GT3 Pack from 1099 to 799).  This is about a $150 price drop.  Don\'t expect the price to drop so much in America though, because the PS2 used to cost about $450 in Europe.  Now they just dropped it down to a normal $300 price tag.

Here is a link to the news (in Dutch), a link to the IGN post, and a link to a Holland retailer that shows the new price of the PS2.

The American PS2 price drop shouldn\'t be too far away now.

YES ! It´s true !
Maybe you know the Big German Electroshop SATURN ?
In its new prospect they sell the PS2 for 599,- DM and the GT3 Bundle for 669,- DM !!!

GO GET IT... if you don´t have it by now... :D

A price drop is good news for everybody. With this new price in Europe I’m sure a lot of people will buy it and gave Sony an advantage over Microsoft and Nintendo.
