Bought your gas mask yet?

I am emberrased to say I use to be in the news business.  They have done so many ridiculous stories on people buying gas masks at army surplus stores.  Give me a freaking break.

First of all, how do you even know they freaking work?  They could have holes in them or any number of things could be wrong.

How do you know when to put the freaking thing on?

What about your skin?  You have just as much of a chance of contracting chemical or biological warfare right through your skin.



PS: I think I have hit the quota on the use of the word Freak in one post.

yeah mebbe you have, but yeah idf they hit the US with biological warfare....

you can expect many more to die....

and with the average intellegence of a person nowadays, i dont even know if they would know how to put it on.....

For any modern chemical or biological weapon, those old war surplus gas masks are totally worthless.  You\'d need a full-on NBC bunnysuit to stand a chance.  Of course if terrorists tried to attack us on the cheap with home-brew chemicals, they may not be as effective as the genuine DOD product.  Who knows.

Gas masks don\'t usually work against bacteria like anthrax...  That just sucks.

I called about 5 different hospitals...4 didn\'t have anthrax vaccines, and one didn\'t know what anthrax was......idiots.

This whole chemical warfare thing sucks...

The only thing gas masks can stop are really gases. It can\'t filter out viruses. But if there was biological warfare, we wouldn\'t be wearing the gasmasks, we would be wearing them dorky yellow suits.

yea well if thats the case i think i would be dead as i dount those freaking things are too cheap and plus i just dont see them being avalible

oh well at least i live where there isnt too much going on although i hear there are bases here in the swamps

Seeing that just about every Bio and Chem weapon out there can be ABSORBED through the Skin then buying a gas mask is both a waste of time and money.

You had might as well hold a Unbrella in the face of an incoming Nuclear Blast.


These people won\'t use Chem and Bio weapons over here they are far to expensiveto maintain and produce, plus most of them require militailly hardware inorder to launch and kill anyone.

The close of Crop Dusting plains in the US and UK is just a Token Jesture.

The Real money should go to prevention rather than protection i say.

Stop these man men before they can do anything thats how to win this "WAR".

I heard that tying a piece of cloth around your nose and mouth will work. :eek:

Nerve Gas will go right in through your skin...

Plus..even the most sophisticated military suits only last around 10 hours before the chemicals/bacteria start to get in.

Chemical/biological warfare is a nightmare waiting to happen.

We could all just move to Africa.
