Well the thing is, someone heard him talking about it on some sort of a indestry event..
The PA2 is being released in Q1, Q2 2002..

And the VectorC thing is avalible by the end of Q1 2002 (I think it was.. Check http://www.codeplay.com/aboutps2.html)

So there are no screenshots at this point..
And If they were, I dont think we\'d understand much.. Because most of it is prob. plain code.

Am I the only one not shocked with this info? :)  This is what I\'ve been saying all along -- the PS2 kicks some serious butt!

I believe there is more power in the PS2

I\'m shocked that they say GT3 doesn\'t come close

I thought there was some article posted a while back wherein Whats-his-name, the guy that\'s behind Gran Turismo, stated they had done about all they could with the PS2 hardware.  It always struck me as a bit suspicious, personally, but it seemed reliable enough.  Anybody else remember that?  I\'m sure I saw it here, not long after GT3 released in North America...

To err is human, to belabor the point to no end and deny any semblance of common sense or logic is the demesnes of the fanboy!

They were telling the truth.  They did do all that they could with the hardware at that time.  Without more knowledge and more developement tools though, it will be impossible to use all of the PS2\'s power.

Well, this really shouldn\'t surprise anyone. Look at the PSX, for instance. Even the stellar-looking games of 1997 on that are blown away by the games that came out towards the end of the consoles life. As the programmers and developers become more familiar with the hardware, they will gradually gain a better understanding of how to use its resources most efficiently. All consoles are that way.

In more good news, Phil Harrison has been quoted as saying that his collaborations with Sony’s US R&D teams wont see fruition for 3-5 years. In short, we haven’t even started to see what PS2 can do.

So, it will be 3-5 years before 989 will actually be up to par with everyone else? :p

Seriously, this is good news around. And, its expected to. I mean, maxing out the system in its 2nd generation? Don\'t think so.

However, it might be more gradual then most people would like. But that is still good.
Opinions are not important.

Euro/aus/nz price drop

GT3 doesn\'t touch the power of the ps2

ICO and Silent Hill 2, NHL 2002 and Spy Hunter out this week in usa..

Me playing the Devil May Cry demo ;)

ROCK ON SONY!

Welp in retrosect there has been a serious improvementr to the overall look of PS2 games from Last Christmas tro this Christmas

With these tools coming out q1 2002 its safe to say we should see another significant improvement with titles leading up and into the 2002 Holiday season

Well you can\'t help and be skeptical with information that seems as optimistic as this. In any case I like most would like this to be true because it means aour gamming experiences will only get better as the console ages.

When compared to other consoles however it doesn\'t really mean much. For all we know Rouge Leader is nowhere near maxing out the GC. And with a c0cky ass developer like Factor Five behind it you just know that\'s what they\'d say.

The day the GT series maxes out the PS2\'s power is when they have real interactive highways with people on 24/7.. And you get to drive around, just like in real life. You can crash, and not get killed (best part).. You will also be able to stop in the middle of the highway, get out, take off your dirty undies and wrap it around Samwise\'s face. Ahhhh, that will be the day....
