Let\'s make a good grammar day!!!
« on: October 04, 2001, 06:06:33 AM »
I was just wondering if everyone could survive a whole day on this board using good grammar and spelling.

Anyone want to try?

Some of these posts I have to read 2-10 times to try and figure out what in the world the author is trying to say.

Everyone always uses the excuse, "I type too fast and I don\'t want to correct them.  I know they are wrong though."

There is a difference between stupid spelling errors and having a post that makes no sense what-so-ever.

Just read what you wrote before you hit submit!

I PROPOSE THAT 10/4 be Good Grammer Day!!!!
Obviously the non-english people are cut some slack.

Damn I\'m sick of that. It makes this forum look like it\'s frequented by a bunch of 5 year olds.
Er, excuse me, how much for one of those, uh, prophylactics?..........But I don\'t have a dollar and thirty-five cents!

BTW Videoholic, I\'ve noticed that your spelling is often not of the highest quality.  I can\'t fault your grammar, but the spelling has been noticable.  I am frustrated by spelling and grammar errors everywhere in the world, but I don\'t say anything about them here because you never can tell how old the poster is.

I find it really funny that non-native english speakers like Samwise, Small Lady, Fastson, Hawke, and others can compose English text with perfect grammar, yet some of our adult educated Americans are too lazy to bother.

I would never say that I have the best grammar nor the best spelling.  I\'m not complaining on the regular miss-spellings.  Haven\'t you guys noticed that some posts by people are virtually un-readable?

These are the ones that annoy me.  Regular ole miss-spellings I couldn\'t care less about.

You said it yerself....LazyAmericans.... Me,myself..I could care less. There is a time and a place for everything..and a net forum is not the place I care to be proper. I save my professionalism for things that deserve it:D
