Have a webserver?

As you might have noticed http://www.psx2central.com is down. Currently we are hosted for free by some nice people. They are haveing problems with the servers and decided to shut my sites down... hopefully they will be up and running soon again...

But just in case, I\'m wondering if there are anyone here that have access to webservers they can use?

The reason I\'m not just paying for my own server is because the ad market is very bad and the sites are not making enough to pay for a server and the bandwidth.
ok, so I can pay with money from my own pocket... nope, I\'m a student and live on loans, and after all expenses there aren\'t many pennys over.

In return if someone can set me up I could promote that company\'s products on the sites etc.

Hopefully the people currently hosting me will put us up again soon though....

I\'d let you borrow some of my space, but I\'m near out myself. However, my provider Telaweb gives you 200MB of space and unlimited bandwidth for $9 US per month, that\'s not bad at all. They were kinda unstable when I first started using them, but I haven\'t had any problems for a long time. If you\'re just going to host the site there, that\'s a great option. For whatever reason though, Telaweb does NOT support MySQL, so you couldn\'t host a vBulletin board on the servers:(

Maybe you could set up a paypal account and have the mods contribute a dollar or two every month to pay for it?

I have been with like 5 or 6 different 10-40$/month "unlimitied" bandwidth hosts and got kicked out of everyone. The bandwidth is not unlimited. Bandwith is where the cost is.
And it is not in the "a few dollars" level :/

I would certanly not ask the people that help the site out to also pay for it.

It seems like but Bjorn need some help to find a low cost server soon.  I have a server but it limits to only 15 megs.

They will be up. They are on a different host. But I can\'t use that host for the rest of the site.

Sorry man, I havent been to the real site since I remembered the URL for the message board. Actually, I never actually visited the site before, never really been interested in that, only the good ole BBS.

If you need help ask me and I\'ll e-mail you. I wanted to create my own PS2 site and found a couple good low cost servers. But there\'s some stuff I don\'t understand but I\'m sure you would. The e-mail I have in my profile I don\'t think works anymore. I\'ll just e-mail them to you when I can find them.

This is a really great site and forum. I am not saying start charging members but there are over 3000 members on this site a dollar or two from each member a month and that pays for everything and 1 dollar is not that much monet. But if I am going to pay of course I would want more member perks;)
