When is the price gonna be reduced for the ps2?

I\'m thinking about buying a ps2 because I feel that it has the edge over the other novice systems out there (Nin gc and xbox).  I only play sports games and feel that the best selection is for the ps2-do u all agree?  I just want to know when and how much the price of the ps2 will be when the price is reduced?Thanks

ummm...NOT ANYTIME SOON...why should they lower it ? cuz xbox and gc is coming out ?

if there is a price drop, its most likely going to be next year...im not going to go into all this info..its just a waste of my time...just use common sense and marketing strategy

I\'d get it now. If you really want one cheap, then get a used one. It will work fine with a fraction of the cost.

I´m pleased because European market will grow a lot with the new ps2 price, but I can´t understand why the hell Sony is not dropping the price of its system in America and Asia for the moment. Any suggestion?

umm i\'ll answer this..

what was the price of the PS2 in EURO in USD before the drop of price? about $400USD+ when you do the currency exchange rate ? and what is it now ? $293USD

what is the price of the japanese ps2\'s ? about $280USD

and how much is the PS2 in the USofA ? $299USD.

that right there brings ALL the systems to close range of being the same amount. so why drop the price of the US anymore ? if you drop the price of the PS2 in the US to $249, where do you think people will go to to buy their PS2. the US because its cheaper and what about japans and euros ps2 ? no one will buy it as much because the US\'s PS2 is cheaper.

i work for EB, and i have customers from the UK coming to my store to pick up PS2s before the price drop. and now i got lil europeans coming into my store to pick up the system now. the only place i believe that still charges like $450+ for the system and $70-100 for the games is i think Greece

Ab-so-flippin\'-lootly RiGhT-oN brother!  Cripes!!!  Just think about it...$50 bucks (if your that lucky and it drops that far initially...me, I bet the first drop hits to $279 in the states).  Anyway, back to the point.  $50 semolians...What\'s that?...2 dates out to the movies???  Perhaps only 1 date if you took her to any place other than McD\'s & also bought her $hit to eat in the theatre & stuff.  $50 dollars...10 - 12 lunches perhaps (if you eat out for lunch).  $50 sawbacks...well over the summer, that was a tank of gas!:eek:   Face it, is it "worth" waiting out on all this fun?  I mean you\'re bound to check the forums in here...these games rock.  And if its sports you like, keep NBA Street in mind.  Crazy-cool game!
