GTA3 German "Bug"...

If you life in Germany and like Video/PC Games... Live sometimes su(k !!!
As you might know, we here in Germany have an institution call BPjS... those guys are watching that nothing too brutal hits the stores and find its way to the kids. So far so good, BUT if you want to play a violent game you just won´t get it with blood and gore, as the developers cut those stuff out. Otherwise there will be no adv. alowed for this game and no media can "present" it - you can buy it, but you maybe don´t know that it exists...

Why am I telling this...
Well, the german version is CUT !!! No blood, no dead bodys, no fun...

BUT, if you switch the language in the PS2 setup to english, you will be able to play the english game !!! :eek:
That means with blood and stuff !!!
Maybe this is intwesting for some of you...

thanks for that info. I also live in europe and can\'t wait to pick up my copy tomorrow. I just called my local store today and asked them regarding GTA3 being cut (as there seemed to be a lot of confusion going on) and they told me they were getting the \'un-cut\' version of the game. If it is cut though, it\'s good to hear that there is a way to get pass that. Great news.. where did you get that info from? or do you already have the game?

Do you have a rating system in Germany ???

Cause if you do then there would be no reason to have edit those scenes


In the US that would violate our Constitutional right to enjoy profanity blood/guts, and Toilet Mouth conversations

The only real  problem here is there are still numerous Game stores that do not follow the rating system and sell these games to minors who\'s parents get all pissed off. I forsee even more stringent laws to punish these stores for selling games like these to the under 17 crowd in the very near future

Anyway back onto the topic.

Im not sure what its like in Germany but in England we have a govening body called BBFC. They are pretty decent.

Some people say that if its an 18 the adult in question should have the say in whether they want to view it. Thats great and the BBFC pretty much stick to that accept they don\'t allow scenes of rape, beastity, that urine one (can\'t remember its name) and some others which I doubt any self respecting 18 year old would want to see anyway!

So basically its a win win situation. We can guarrentee not seeing any sick and perverted nasty stuff but at the same time get films with as much "18 guts" as anyone would like.

There has been a few cases where it hasn\'t worked out. Like Carmaggedon being forced to use greenblood to represent zombies instead of red blood to represent humans in its game.

Generally though its all ok.

Yes ddaryl, we do have a rating system... GTA3 is above 18 !
But also we´ve got the BPjS. It´s like what RichGUK says about Carmageddon !
No, ZOE wasn´t banned or so... we "just" don´t get the DMC Demo with it... only a Video ! That´s why most of us are buying the UK Vers. of the game !

that really sucks...... its a bit like hardcore porn not being legal in the UK... so I have to get it from Germany..... fair trade then, you get our versions of PS2 games and we get your versions of porn films....... mad life aint it eh!?!
