Hmmmmmmmm...........once again ps2 owns the top 10 in japan.  GC seems to be flopping bad over there.  8500?!?!!?  Thats horrible.......well its just shows you that ps2 is a force in japan.  Btw, nintendo needs to hurry up and get a new game out in japan...........fast.  No wonder GC ain\'t selling only 3 games out while ps2 is coming with tons of AAA titles at once.  :thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:

nintendo keeps on making those same mistakes over and over again, they should know that early in a consoles lifeline the userbase should be maximized. This attracts developers who make games which then make people buy the console. With a crap userbase a AAA title on will sell the same as a Mediocre game on a platform which has a big userbase.

Isn\'t super smash bros melee due in a few weeks time, that will spice the things a bit up

Obviously those numbers are lower than the real sales numbers.  Do you think that the PS2 has only sold 2.5 million in Japan?  And if I remember correctly, CvsSNK2 was somewhere around 500 thousand last week.  Now it\'s only 250 thousand?  What is up with those numbers?

yea still though the NGC isnt pumping out anything too impressive - i think that pretty soon its gonna be the US that makes or breaks a console - i have the feeling that NGC is gonna do a lot better in the US then Japan - thats gonna be weird

Also Nintendo\'s sales are a bit skewed because unlike Sony they don\'t ship directly to the retailers. They work through distributors so its harder to keep track of what is sold and what isn\'t.

Oh, I didn\'t notice that "since 1/1/2001" part.  Thanks for clearing that up.  

And I also think the NGC numbers are a bit lower than they really are.  But that still doesn\'t mean the NGC is doing well.  Hopefully Pikmin will bring the numbers up into the millions.

This week, the PS2 sold more than the GBA which is pretty impressive considering it\'s $200 more.
