My PS2 is offically deceased!!!

Well, it looks like I\'m out a PS2, it quit working on me, for the fact all i did was take the top off of it, and look at the inside of it, it quit working from that point on. I didn\'t even touch anything else. So, looks like I\'m ****ed now, ethier that or, take it to Wal mart, and pull a switch.

Bet you bumped something in the process of taking the cover off.

Take it to Walmart or Kmart, they should swap it for you.

They won\'t check for a warrenty sticker missing will they? Yeah, i think i bumped something.  Should i call them up?

Just bullcrap out of your butt about some lame excuse for it not working. In Australia (not sure if its the same in US) Kmart and Big W (our version of Walmart) will swap them over, even without a reciept or warrenty card, provided it doesnt look like its been tampered with.

:rolleyes: Imo this is your own BIG fault Darkgamer. Why in the hell would you wanna try to open up the damn machine inthe 1st place ?
It\'s not like a pc which is built with lotsa space for expansion and less chance of parts being vulnarable .... You wanted to mod it yourself or were you just curious?? If you were curious ; there\'s lotsa sites on the net which show PS2 inside, so why bother and take that fatal risk ?

Oh well, I\'m just going to get a new one for about 270, and smash this one to bits, I\'ll have fun with that.  And i don\'t know how to mod a console, so, that shoots down your statement about me wanting to mod it. I was curious, and the dust that has gotten inside is rather, well, theres ALOT. oh well, I\'ll smash this son of a ***** tuesday night, and get a new one on wednesday, along with tony hawk 3.

BTW, please cut the personal attacks, if you saw Ddaryl\'s sticky about that earlier. BTW, i know its my own damn fault, i don\'t care. I have enough cash to buy 3 more of them so.

You might have ripped/pulled out the cable that controls the power and eject buttons. It is really flimsy and if you don\'t know its there(Connected to the top part that you took off) you could easily pull it out or break it. What exactly is wrong with your PS2? If the light isn\'t coming on and you can\'t eject that may be the problem.

The light won\'t come on, the system stays off. Nothing happens. No worries, I\'ll just pick up a new one on tuesday. I won\'t take it apart ever again.  Well, i might tinker with the defecitve one now.

if u plan on smashing it to bits, u might as well open it up again and try to figure something out

Hey DG ... I didn\'t mean it as a personal attack or anything like that. I just pointed out that your action was an action which you could have better thought about twice before doing it. That\'s just
facts, and it doesn\'t make me happy if someone tells me their console is broken... I don\'t like to see other ppl unhappy.
Believe me, we all make some stupid mistakes in our lives, including me :nut: But please make such mistakes with something cheap, not a PS2.
