Is PS2 console included in the racing bundle better?
« on: October 29, 2001, 05:30:30 AM »
Hi guys. im new in the forum and i would like to ask you something since i plan to buy a PS2 console.
i\'ve listened froma retailer that the PS2 console included in the GT3 Racing Pack has an upgraded DVD unit, naming the console the version 5 of it. Is this true?
Also I would thank your help if you could give me a web page where i could find the serial numbers of the different PS2 versions that exist or giving me the serial numbers of your console if you have the one included in the Racing Bundle.

Thanks for your help.
Greetings

yes its better because the console itself is $299.99..the GT3 bundle is $329.99. you are paying $30.00 for the game compared to $49.99.

as for the serial number...the one that is console itself is SCPH-30001 or SCPH-30001R for the newer PS2s. as for the GT3 bundle pack...i believe the serial number is SCPH-35001..theres no difference just that it comes with the game. the only one that has updated DVD drivers is SCPH-30001R...but this version of the PS2 lets you use the PS2 dvd remote without installing the updated drivers onto your memory card..thats all the "R" stands for. nothing fancinating about it or any thing absolutely new

and there isnt any sites that post current serial numbers

That would be a Model Number there geobrush and Bandit, not the Serial Number... I\'m sure that\'s what you guys meant.

Anyway, I have the GT3 bundled PS2 and I still had to load the DVD remote driver onto a memory card, so these bundles don\'t necessarily have the newest drivers like Bandit said.
