Can\'t change TV type on DVDs!
« on: October 29, 2001, 06:00:57 AM »
When watching DVDs on the PS/2, pressing [SELECT] brings up options.  On Setup, there is an option "TV Type" whichj is always on 16:9 ... I have a standard 4:3 Tv and so I get dodgy stretched films.... How can I change this value (In the system config when you switch on with no disk, I have my TV set as 4:3)  its ONLY the DVD menu I can\'t change.
Has anyone else had this?
How do I fix it?
Or is My ps/2 faulty (its new - came in gt3 bundle)

Remove any disks you have and hit the reset button and a screen will come up that has the words "Browser" and "System Configuration" on it.  Enter the System Config Menu by hilighting it and pressing X.  Press down on your D-Pad once and you will be looking at the Screen Size option.  Press X and you will be given the option of changing it between 4:3, Full, and 19:9.

I didn\'t mean the option you spoke of (I have that set as full anyway) but on DVDs when pressing [SELECT] and choosing setup I couln\'t change tv type there.  But I have fond out now, you have to STOP (not pause) the disk in order to adjust this setting.  My DVDs now work just fine!
