M4, where did you get your Crystal ball?!! For the first time in history, someone’s crystal ball might have actually worked. This news is straight from Gamespot about their trip to Japan yesterday:
Probably the biggest surprise of our trip was when we stopped by Konami headquarters for an interview with Hideo himself. While we were interviewing him, he seemed excited over something really big. Right in the middle of the interview, he showed us something that none of us could believe -- a cell shaded MGS2! After sitting their for a few minutes in disbelief, we picked our jaws up off the floor and asked what exactly he was showing us. It turns out that after seeing the new Zelda, he was considering going with the cel shading style too. In the pictures below, you can see exactly what we saw. Kojima said he was exited for the "gritty" cel shaded look.
"It matches the style of the game quite well," Kojima said. "It is a mix between realism and Manga. I would not be surprised if this style of graphics will not take over the gaming industry within the next few years." We are not sure what will come from this, but we are hoping that this cel shading "virus" doesn\'t completely take over Japan before we get our normal, non cel shaded MGS2.
What the heck is going on with those Japanese? I just don\'t get them sometimes. I really hope Hideo doesn\'t screw this game up in the last minute. Oh, and here\'s a pic from Gamespot.
