Have you seen GameCube RESIDENT EVIL (BIOHAZARD)? Screens Shots
« on: October 30, 2001, 06:54:50 PM »
WOW is all I can say.   I still want  the  GameCube StarWars game!! I still might pickup a GameCube with StarWars game in November. Is GameCube only $199.00? If the system is sold out, I\'m still picking up StarWars game with or with out the system! I just can\'t wait to see StarWars World in full action!!!!  Ok OK who is getting a GAMECUBE?  :D

Thanks to Consoledomain for the info.

The fact that Capcom has employed the tried and trusted static backgrounds of the original titles, rather than the true 3D visuals of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, may come as a disappointment to some. Although this may sound like a step backwards, it has meant that the processing power of the Gamecube\'s Gekko processor has been left to deal with the vastly improved background visuals and character models which leave even Code Veronica looking dated. As you can see from the screenshots and the trailer, the Resident Evil series is set to look grittier than ever on Gamecube.

Is this type of quality production possible on the PS2?
Will we, (PS2 owners) be seeing this type of quality in the near future?

No, PS2 cannot do this, based on Hardware facts. The PS2 can only do 1 (I think) texture while GC can do 8, Xbox does 4. Those textures are what really make it stand out. Also the lighting affects cannot be done this dynamic on the PS2 either.

I greatly dislike the RE franchise, but let us not forget that another Zombie infested game (featuring red blood) "graced" a Nintendo console in the past...
