A lot of people have missed the best drivingexperience ever. A full GT3 i-link review

Nov 2 2001 was the day that my Firewirehub arrived



Its a beutiful piece of hardware!!!

Like I said it arrived and i went to a local electronicstore and bought 4 firewire 6-4 pins cables so that we could play GT3, I bought the 1.8 meters ,they are pretty damn expensive.
I called some of my PS2 friends and we meet at friend of mine about 7:PM yesterday.
When i arrived we where only 2 so we decided to try out the hub, we connected 2 PS2 with the hub and tried to play. IT DID NOT WORK!!! Damn I was angry. Why doesnt it work?? We could see that the 2 PS2 had connection.  My PS2 had no:2 and my friend had no:1
I checked the manual and I figured it out, if you use only 2 PS2 you must use a firewire 4-4 pins cable and if you have more than 2 ps2 than you must use a hub.
So we directconnected them with the 4-4 pins cable and everything worked nice(we had done this before).
After a hour the 2 other arrived and we put all cables and stuff togheter. Damn TV:s are heavy!!
After everything was put togheter it worked on the first try!!!
We didnt even had to restart any PS2 before.
This game linked togheter 4 players are AWSOME!!! i can´t really explain how good and fun this is but I say that I have had the funniest and best drivingexperience ever!! This game is 1000 times better when you challenge your friends.We played from about 8 : pm to 4:30 am!!! And we are going to play it today even more! LOL, Everybody should try this out it is THE experience.

Some bad stuff:

1. You cant use the Hub if you are only 2 players.
2. Its a major bug in the game. When the game starts up every PS2 has a special ID no so that My PS2 had always no:2 and the other PS2 had other numbers, this did not change even if you changed cables! Must be some serialnumber in the game or so.
When I pit in I always get pitplace no:2 and the one with PS2 no:1 gets always pitplace no 1.
If I no 2 pits in 5-10 seconds before no 1 some big troubles happens. When my car is changing tires no 1 comes and  stand in front of me and blockes my way, the car cant get out!! So no 1 comes out befre no 2 even though no 2 pits first!! This is something that PD most change!!
3. We tried out the 3 screen mode with the roads on left and right. This did not work either. The TV left would only shown livefootagecameras but not the left side of the road. The right side worked perfectly but that doesnt help!!

So people buy a firewirehub and put somefriends togheter and you wil lhave a lot to do!!

Did you play any Endurance Races?

We finnished two, 50 laps race on Trial Montain, I managed to get under 1 min 15 sec yesterday with the Mazda 787B.

I recently unlocked the Polyphony001 formula 1 based car, its FREAKING FAST, its transforms GT3 completly, the 1st time i played with this car! MEN! I THOUGHT I WAS PLAYING WIP3OUT! or G-extreme!

I mean since i picked up this car, all and i mean ALL (except for the big oval) i can finish every track in a time inferior to 1m9s??ms
My best time with it is 1m3s??ms, and i feel i can do alot better, cuz every freaking lap u do a mistake, the car is incredibly easy to control, but u need to heavly experienced with breaking controls and cornoring!!!

And who said the cars in GT3 didn´t had a driver???
Well Polyphony 001 has lol, poor guy doens´t even move an inch!
We can barely see its helmet and shoulders, we can see more, cuz the car is so freaking fast!!! that the camera cant keep up with the speed of it! once it cames close to the camera, vrriiiiiuuuuummm.............next time u see it, is far awy, some tracks u dont even see it after passing through a camera, cuz it simply get out of the field of vision so fast, it skips to the next camera.

You have to see to believe it!

i forgot, that was my 1st best time, i did a 57s??ms lap in some short track i gotta see wich one, but how? i dont like to save replays.....sh!t....

by the way, wich is the best car in gt3?
Ive tryed to unlock other formula 1 cars, but its never selected

Were you able to use your garage when you did the I-link gaming, my cousin and I couldn\'t figure out how you could use your garage

You can only use the cars that you have unlocked in Arcade-mode. Like the Mazda 787B and other supercars, dont know about the F1 cars but you never know.

I was so pissed when I relised you couldn\'t use your garage cars, well atleast I have unlocked every arcade car

Im going to try iLink and GT 3 today with my friend We are only 2 peeps though, still going to be fun I guess....
