Does this have any validity???

-------------------

This thread/post does is not referring to anything to do with pirating, bootlegging, or the copying of illigal games.

PS2 Central does not endorse anything said inside this thread, and either does ##RaCeR##. This is simply an honest question that I need answering
-------------------

Ok, now that I can\'t get sued or introuble for anything that MAY be percieved to be illigal by anyone (which is isnt) I can begin.

I was browsing another PS2 Forum when I came across this particular topic.

Someone claims that they can play ORIGINAL DVD games from ANY region (these are honestly bought copies of games) on a JAP 10000 or 15000 machine.

This is what he had to say;

Yes!
I just found a new trick for the scph 10000 jap owners (that use swap trick already) without a ******* to load DVD original games

1) You have to load the Region X (I have the backup without dongle check and works perfectly).
2) Press the EJECT button (don\'t press X on joypad use eject instead!)
3) Put an original JAP DVD game (with a big TOC) and press the EJECT button again to close the tray.
4) Wait 5 or 6 seconds until the TOC and region information has been read.
5) MANUALLY SWAP the DVD with the other DVD u want to load (try a not patched DVD-r i BET it works). W A R N I N G: You have to do this step while the DVD is spinning (by the way it spin really SLOW so it\'s easy) so be CAREFUL!!!
6) wait 2 seconds and press START, the game will load as usual.

Now, does this have any validity at all. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a Region X, and is this illigal???

Also, I do not see what is wrong with playing original games from other countries on machine thats they werent intended for, so I can not see why this post should be closed or why I will get in trouble.

Thanks.
