Does Soul Reaver 2 Supports Dolby 5.1?
« on: November 05, 2001, 09:00:31 PM »
Hi everyone this is my first post in these forums, but i\'m watching(i mean reading) all u guys from long time. I really love this website especially the forums. So, by the way, anyone knows if Soul Reaver 2 supports Multichannel Audio. I noticed it in a press release by Dolby...

“Including Dolby\'s 5.1 surround audio in today\'s high-performance game platforms means home gaming can now surpass even the best arcade gaming experiences,” said Dennis Staats, Director, Computer and Games Technology Marketing, Dolby Laboratories. “I\'m quite sure that Mad Dash Racing, as well as all future Eidos Dolby Digital 5.1 titles, will delight and astound gamers with an interactive 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack.”

For more Mad Dash Racing information, go to http://www.maddashracing.com. The game\'s soundtrack will feature music by leading electronic music artists including Moby, Fatboy Slim, and Uberzone. Other upcoming Eidos releases in Dolby multichannel sound include Soul Reaver 2 and Blood Omen 2.

Thanks for replying EYE, and sure the sound in NHL 2002 really rocks in dts. I have 61" HDTV from Toshiba and has a full 5.1 setting, PS2 just rocks with Component Video for display and Optical Cable for Sound. I think developers should take advantage of Mutichannel sound in games, at LEAST Dolby Surround, anyone played Extreme G-3 oh boy u should hear bass in that game!! developers should improve their sound quality by using those technologies. In Gamecube\'s Rogue Squadron II, developers of that game are using Dolby Pro-Logic II Technology, it\'s first for any game, u can use standard audio cable (Red and White) into your receiver and able hear reproduction very close to Dolby Digital!!!

One more thing anyone saw a logo of Dolby Digital on the back of SR2 case? i\'ll buy that game just because of Sound, no wonder most of the reviewers gave perfect for sound to this game
