Turbo Grafx 16 vs. 3DO vs. Atari Jaguar vs. Virtual boy

Let the debate begin!

So who do you think will win the war?

I sure hope those Jaguar "fanboys" don\'t show up this time.  They\'re almost as bad as the Sega 32X fanboys.

hmmmm, thats a tough one. Perhaps if we truly delve into what made each console, we can see.

Turbo Grafx 16 wins easily in the RPG genre. With Y\'s Books 1 and 2, it beats almost any RPG, EVER. It also wins in the shooter department, sincejust about every other game was a shooter of some type. The CD add-on made for one of the best Dracula games (Castlevania) and Snatcher was also on it, one of the most stylish, coolest games ever.

3DO - umm, this is the best system without a doubt, for FMV games. Plus it had Killing Time, which, at the time, was the freakiest game ever. This is the best failure system for sports titles. Fifa and Madden on here were great.

Jaguar - excellent for platoform games and some other titles. This is truly an American console. Doom, Wolfy, and Aliens vs. Predator were all great FPS\'s. Rayman was a great pltformer, and worms was good for multiplayer fun. NBA Jam looked the best on here, among a few other games.

Virtual Boy - sucks.

winner - Jaguar for action, TG-16/TG-CD for shooter, RPG.

1990 - 1995 called...

They said they wanted this debate back.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

In suckiness, the Virtual Boy rules all there, sorry.

In awesomeness, the TurboGraphx 16 (but only with the Turbo CD), 2nd place goes to the 3D0.

See, the 3D0 had Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.  Nuff said.

The T16 + Cd, however, had not only Dracula X (much better than the SNES "port") but also the Ys series.

Ys is the best Action RPG series this side of Zelda and Secret of Mana.  And... Ys 1-4 has the best video game music, red-book audio or otherwise, in the history of the industry!!  (IMHO, of course)

Any fan of VGM owes it to him-/herself to check out Falcom Nihon and their JDK Band, with the Ys and Sorcerian soundtracks... Wow!

If you like the kind of hard rock that Konami made famous with Castlevania, then you must check out the Turbo CD Ys games and their soundtracks.

Whew, sorry about the rant.

TG-16 all the way.  Bonk!! remember Bonk??!?!? My brother and I would always get into arguments about whether or not Bonk could beat up Sonic.  We go so into it, we were like "Sonic has speed, but if he gets hit once, hes dead! Bonk had hearts and could eat meat and geat stronger.....it was insane to say the least...

That zelda wasn\'t done by nintendo was it? It was actually pretty bad IMO, and the crappy controller made it worse

3DO - Powerfull but Waay too expensive and it had a lack of good games. Was nice but its price lets it down

TG-16 - never seen or played it

Atari Jaguar - Had some good games such as rayman, SF, AvP and some cool 3d space shooter (can\'t remember its name) But the controller was pretty bad IMO

Virtual boy - Way ahead of its time, looked ugly and was big and bulky. The red wireframe graphics sucked aswel

Jaguar wins :)

Nope, those 3 CD-I Zelda games were not developed by Nintendo, it was a residual left over agreement from the failed Nintendo-Philips contracts.

Um... another great-ass game on the Turbo 16... Military Madness!  Woo!

Fifa Soccer on the 3DO was really good (back when the Fifa series wasn\'t dog poop). I never played the Turbo Grafx 16 as I was living in England at the time and it wasn\'t released there.
