I got mine at Wal-mart and there was a line for \'em and they said they had been overwhelmed with calls and questions all day, still it was nowhere near the hysteria of the PS2 launch..

On a not so related note, the manager of Wal-mart said they did not expect any sort of line for the GC , they also stated that they would have "more than enough GC units , to go around for everyone".

yeah I went to the mall where my Software ETC is (that is here I pre-ordered it).....they told me I wasnt on the first list the night before......I went anyways.......mostr of the people were going to KayBee (which is also in the mall) tho.....before they opened the gate to the store they asked for our names and guess what...I was the LAST person on the first list......Someone didnt know what they were talking about or didnt know how many they actually had.......I would have been happy with my games...........I was expecting BIG lines waiting before the mall opened but nope about 10 people....at the Best Buy,Toys R US, and Target (Best Buy and Target were next door to each other) was a different story.......LOOOOOOOONG lines...I went to alot of stores looking for a memory card since Software ETC DIDNT have mine (I wont get into that fiasco)............

The cubes coming out tomorrow and I\'m curious as to see how much "hype" it will get.

I doubt it will get very much.

That\'s where I\'m putting my money.

I got in line at 7pm this year, but Best Buy opened at 8am to serve the Xbox people before the store opened at 10am.  So...

PS2
Where: Best Buy (Woodbridge, VA)
When: 8pm - 10/25/00
Units avaliable: 144
How Many People: A little over 220 at 10am 10/26
Position in line: #43
Hours waiting: 14

Xbox
Where: Best Buy (Woodbridge, VA)
When: 7pm - 11/14/01
Units available: 98
How Many People: A little over 30 at 8am 11/15
Position in line: #4
Hours waiting: 13

I thought more would show for the Xbox but what the hell.  The only positive part of me waiting overnight was that I got one of the very few DVD kits and HD packs on launch.  Worst part was the 3 people in front of me had been waiting since 10 AM!!  That\'s 22 hours that were pretty much wasted since they didn\'t get a DVD kit. :surprised

Wow, you really wanted that X-box.

I don\' t have that kinda patience, to come to think of it, I got my PS2 in October, therefore I\'m pretty damn patient, I waited a whole year longer than you all! DAMN YOU ALL!! MWUAHAHHAHAHAHA!

i wish i could

that little primate wont lift a finger to help any human

he\'d rather ridicule us, and plan his "world domination" plan

plus, can you imagine the pandimonium that would occur when a chimpanzee turned up in line and tried to use my debit card?

I remember waiting in line for my PS2 in a small country town who was getting 13 units.

this town was 5 hours away from where I live, I spent the WHOLE night under the stars and didn\'t get one. I was however lucky enough to get a ticket stub for the next batch to come in. Only 5 stubs were handed out. Out of over 250 people so I was lucky.

and thats how I got my PS2...and it was worth BOTH nights that I slept under the stars cause the people who got stubs had to come back the next week again and you had to claim your PS2 that night or they would give it away.

Cause I was thinking the same damn thing.  The hype and hysteria just did not seem like it was there..

Even people on the radio this morning were saying the same thing..

I am going out Sunday Morning to find me a GameCube.  Im not standing in line.  But I will find one.  K-Mart, WalMart, Circuit City, I will find one somewhere.!!!
