I think you are blowing DOA3 out of proportion. I\'ve played DOA2 (since the day it came out on DC) and DOA3 is very similar. Granted, DOA3 has some extra stuff thrown into the gameplay, but it\'s not a whole new world.
As LiC already stated, you want depth, you play a VF game.
However, as Watchdog mentioned, DOA is just a fighting game you can play for fun, without having to think too much. And that\'s the reason I bought it. Sometimes in the middle of my VF/SF matches, I need some mindless fun fighters than I can pick up and just have fun with. Which is actually one of the reasons I want Smash Brothers. Can\'t say it\'s mindless since I have yet to play it, but if it\'s anything like the first one, then the same rules apply.
